Commentary and presentation sound solid this year. Arena specific music, PA sounds, and custom tracks will make it this year. There seems to be confusion to player intros, not sure if this is in or not from what I've read. I just hope 2K10 has more control than what is in the combine. I feel like I can't walk to where I want to
FYI - I think I got it to work. I downloaded the demo and I guess when I downloaded the full version it activated the Demo as the full Version. Not confirmed yet, but don't see the word "demo" anywhere. Thanks RC!
Download the demo. The full retail version is simply a code to unlock the demo. Battlefield, Marvel vs Capcom 2, etc... all work that way.
I think that'll only affect people who don't know how to play. You really only need the turbo for a short period of time to run and dunk on someone. Sure, it'll stop people from racing up the court with Lebron and smashing on you but I'm willing to bet the only difference you'll see is guys will just walk the ball up court...then hit the turbo and smash on you. The way the ratings are concerns me a little. It seems like it will really hurt Association mode (especially if you play with multiple people). In 2K9, if you trade for Dwight Howard, spend a couple months developing handles/speed he is completely unstoppable...no really, there is no way to stop him. In past games the ratings were close enough that you could develop another player to be nearly as beastly. Now, a developed Dwight will be head and shoulders above the competition.
The new ratings philosophy has been adopted by several sports developers. It makes perfect sense to me. I can't wait until its implemented. Its pure genius. So now you can't develop a superstar out of nowhere to compete with a superstar like Howard? Sounds perfect. Stars playing like stars, role players playing like role players. Novel idea.
That's how it happens. Young players develop over time and eventually someone will be good enough to compete with Dwight. But, if everyone's ratings are so low out the gate it will be impossible for one of the young guys to burst onto the scene as they usually do. This wouldn't even be as much of an issue if there was something to prevent fairly established players from getting great at their few weaknesses. I think it's much more likely that another young big reaches Dwight's level than it is for Dwight to become a good ft/mid-range shooter with a dominant post game (which is remarkably easy to do in 2k9). I agree, it's great for normal quick games/online play but as the seasons roll on in Association mode it shouldn't be 2 MJ's (Lebron and Dwight) and a bunch of okay players.
1. I think they have live practices this year...Not sure if plays would be included though... 2. They had this in the great "College Hoops 2K8". Fantastic game, I don't know why they can't just transfer it over... 3. That would be cool. I think that "auto-rotation" does a pretty good job for the most part though in NBA 2K9.
All info in this article excites me. I think basketball games finally surpassed football. By a lot... http://community.2ksports.com/community/insights/index.cfm?aid=987609&l=11
