Which rosters and which sliders do you recommend? I downloaded some rosters from nbaliveseriescenter but I can't take any roster which has Chuck Hayes' post defense rated as C- seriously. This game has a really steep learning curve. I have real trouble scoring with Brooks and Scola being the main offensive forces. And those backdoor cuts are driving me crazy. But I like it. I think the Rockets' offense won't be pretty either. Oh, and post D is off. Chuck can be pushed under the basket even when his strength and post defense are both 99 - impossible.
Is it just me, or is it better to get silver rather than gold in the drills so you get the skillpoints instead?
For PS3 I use Hoosierdaddy's rosters. For 360 I think the consensus set belongs to Nogster, I may be wrong though. I am a PS3 guy.
Here is more info on the new ratings 2K is adding. I love them all. http://thereal2kinsider.blogspot.com/2009/08/nba-2k10-ratings.html Another review http://www.operationsports.com/preview.php?id=86
I just won't ever get used to playing with adjusted sliders. I know, i know you all love it. It's just that it inevitably makes certain players better and certain players worse. It changes their impact. You could go one step further and make it realistic (in your opinion) by adjusting everyone's ratings but again that's changing the impact of different players from the default settings. It isn't uniform. So the same players play differently depending on the slider settings. I'd rather 2K fix their mistakes and enjoy the game as is.
Not too excited about a basketball game amping up the ratings for superstars and lowering everybody else. I was already sick of playing Kobe, Lebron, and Wade online ... now it's going to be even worse.
Player out almost an entire career on 2K9. Its strange to think 2K10 is nearly here. I hope they fix the created a player feature so you can change the created players faces a heap more. It was really bad in 2K9. I dont play online, I just play franchise seasons. I though most other things were pretty good.
Well now Brent Barry won't drop 30 on you. Tired of Kobe, Lebron, Wade? You sound like a real life opposing coach now. Sounds about right...
Sucks they wont have online RANKED lobbies in 2k10. I am tired of playing rookies, veterans, stars , and superstars. PS3 version. I seek and destroy Hall of Famers.
Actually, I think the biggest problem with those players is that people abused the "turbo button" and just drove into the lane and dunked on everyone play after play. This year they've implemented a turbo meter that drains in 2 ways. First, a yellow meter drains each time you hold down the turbo button (this last 3 or 4 seconds). Second, a dark green meter drains over the course of the entire game depending on how often you use turbo. As this goes down, it becomes your new "maximum" turbo. So, if someone wants to use turbo all game long to go flying down the lane for dunks, they will literally be out of turbo by halftime. I think it's a great feature that will really balance play.
I have found the new system to be easier to use, but not a whole lot better in terms of creating a proper representation of my own face. It still looks too ethnic no matter what I do. I'm a pretty "white" looking guy, but I come out looking like a pale Puerto Rican, even after an hour of adjustments.
Could it be that the vast majority of its audience are minorities. On ps3, is seems that all Team 2k winners are black or a minority.
Here is some new info on 2k10. Link Damn...one of the things that I liked about the 2k series was the not so ridiculous ratings like Live. Other than that I found some great, great info on 2k10. Link A few snips from the long article. This is too good to resist.
Just bought game off of the playstation store. It is only 6kb? The demo is larger at some 380 MB. WTF? I can't even find the game once i have downloaded? This is crap. Anyone got it working yet on PS3?
Kind of skimmed the 2K Forums. I might be wrong (haven't tried downloading the game yet), but it almost sounds like you can "unlock" the "demo" (aka trial?) to the full version. Is there an option to do that? Actually, maybe if you boot up the demo, it will turn out to be the full version? Or maybe there was just a problem with the transfer. I'd suggest checking out those forums.
3 things I've been wanting for a while (and it looks like I'll still have to wait): I wish these games would include a "training camp" mode where you can practice different plays. I wish there was a playbook editor where you can draw up custom plays. I wish there was a rotation configuration where you can specify you're own rotation patterns and have the game automatically sub players in and out based on those specified rotations.
