I honestly cant tell you any better thing to use, since I dont do mixes...but I can tell you that if it is freezing up that often...it must be a piece of crap.. hell..It is Windows Media Maker...so it *must* be crap. The program I use(Womble mpeg2vcr) to edit my stuff doesnt ever freeze on me...but then again, Im just using it to edit out clips(commercials) and sometiems add in some clips... I do use the same program to clip together the highlights...and it never freezes on me...but Im not also adding in music and tryin to sync it...so it may not be as resource intensive as what you are doing. my machine is a 2800+ XP AMD with 1G of DDR(400mHz dual channel)...I would consider this middle of the road for intensive video/audio work. If you are gonna get serious about some mixmaking...and you are tired of the WMM...you might want to try Adobe Premier Pro...I hear it is really good for this kind of stuff.
Well here's what happens: I import a full length video to get clips from it and I throw them in the story board. Then I import ANOTHER full length video and get clips and throw them in the story board. Then another and another. After about 5 videos it starts to get buggy and then after a while it just simply freezes with everything I try to do. Maybe I was just too tired (I finished the video at about 7am) but I couldn't think of any particular method to get around this. I suppose I could import one video, pull the clips I want, combine them and make that a seperate video file all its own, then start a new project for each video I need to pull from. Then I could upload each video of pulled highlights (which would be much smaller than the FULL videos I got them from) into a new project and then cut it up into clips there. But damn, that's a hell of a lot of work.
I see what is happening Everyone of those full length vids take up memory...if you have them all imported and are pulling clips from them at the sametime...it is gonna overload WMM's memory space. You cant import them one at a time and pull the clips you want to the storyboard, and then close the source video without losing the stuff you have already clipped? When Im combining multiple clips from different sources in mpeg2vcr, it keep s the clips on its clipboard even if I have the videos closed from within the software.. It might be better for you to do as you said, take out the clips you want..and combine them into a shorter vid...then open it up instead and pull the clips as you need them. Seems like alot of work...but it has to be better than having WMM crash and lose the work you have done up till that point.
Has street feel to it. I like the camera angles people took today in this vid and the lord of terror. The floor footage at points is very nice change of pace and look.
I get a blurry picture with this video as well as the Lord of terror clip. THey're both Windows Media files. I don't think I ever had issues with this particular type of file. Can somebody help me?
Are you kidding??? WMV's pack the most punch in a small amount of space and good luck making a .mov go full screen unless you pay for Quick Time. Keep the WMV's coming.
Here's a re-up just in case. I took some frames out that shouldn't have been in there (I'm a perfectionist) and also changed the effect on one of the clips. So this is the more polished version, and it came out a few MB's smaller somehow. If you haven't downloaded the original, you should get this one instead. FINAL VERSION
Nice vid. I think I'm gonna make my own mix tape now featuring Steve Francis; I think I'll call it the Real TMAC
great great video! GO TMAC!!!! it was weird, but if you take a look at the 2:55 mark, some guy on the other team does this strange cop-like arm-twist pin move on Yao. looked pretty impressive.
great video... love the zoom ins!! another re-up http://s44.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=29N89P679695G3E9MOEQD5XRW8
Fantastic clip. I have to echo two of the comments made elsewhere in this thread:

It's refreshing to see a clip that is solely Houston T-Mac footage. Sure, he's a stud regardless of where he plays, but he's a Rocket now, dagnabbit. Besides, in my admittedly biased opinion, I feel he's had his best highlights with the Rockets anyway.
It's also really, really nice to have a clip with a non-rap soundtrack. Rap and hip-hop are rather hit-or-miss genres for my tastes.
As a side note, I may have to pick up the CD with Move on it at some point...
I like, I like it a lot. And I dont like the .mov files, you cant see very well and sometimes doesnt want to open. Keep the good work, man!
