It does concern me that Scola is playing the tournament. They were totally hammering him today. Hacking at his arms, etc. He kept going at them, but I want him to be healthy for the regular season.
agree, their team play sucked, but prior to playing each other in the eastern conference finals, who did you think was the better team?
I love it that Scola has a good bank shot...it gives him so many more angles on the floor to hit the shot. Also, not that Scola doesn't dunk (because he definitely does).....but once you see Scola's competitive game you'll be plenty excited. I was glued to the edge of my seat watching Scola carry his team back from a 17 point deficit against a Brazil team that was trying to rough him up. I would rather see the excitement of winning than just a few nasty dunks a la Stromile Swift.
No denying that the Pistons were the better team. However, the Mavs were the best team prior to their Round 1 loss to Golden State. You can't say that Dirk Nowitzki is no superstar because he didn't get out of the first round or because he couldn't lead his team above Golden State. Look, I understand your reasoning and your opinion. I hope you can understand mine too...
per fran blinebury (btw, i didn't use you as an example): Fran, When I read various on-line newspapers sites, I noticed that sports journalist use the word Superstar to describe certain players in their beat. But I must say I don't think of that player as a superstar and I believe that word is used too loosely to describe a player. Will you please give me your opinion of the term and maybe name 3 current NBA players you believe are true superstars? Thanks, The Real Private [It's used too often. Tim Duncan. Tim Duncan. Tim Duncan. --Fran] Posted by: TheRealPrivate at August 30, 2007 09:47 AM http://blogs.chron.com/franblinebury/2007/08/what_rafer_did_on_his_summer_v.html
