scola sure is looking like an offensive juggernaut.

    role player?

please. that's a term for someone like jon barry.

scola is scoring 1 on 1, and using sweet moves to will his way between multiple defenders.

can you see his swagger? his snarl? when he gets to the NBA he's just going to get mean. i seriously doubt this guy is going to back down and get all submissive.

dude is going to serve up some facials, punish 4s for not coming out to meet him at 18ft, and throw some wicked interior passes to yao or to say an adelman-motioned stevie.

scola is a starter. i'm so stoked to see such a high IQ and fearless PF.

and being a high IQ guy, he's really going to soak in all those best practices shared by the megastars and veterans around him.

theyre calling him a battier at the 4...because of his IQ. but what about how he also shares Battier's fearlessness...suit up already!

Largely agree, but Battier can't touch Scola on the offensive end. And whoever thinks he won't compliment Yao is nuts. Assuming he picks it up on the defensive side of the ball, Scola is going to be exactly what we needed at the 4. He's going to open space for Yao and Tracy to do their thing, and score when left with any daylight. The big question is his defense. I just don't see the Battier comparison.

Exactly, Scola is far more aggressive than Battier.

lets just say he's more offensively oriented than Battier, because we all know Battier goes all out on the defensive end. Like JVG said, if you have issues with battier then you have issues.

I am not one to buy into hype usually, but I can't help myself. Can you not see Scola and Yao playing high-low post? Or Yao passing out of a double-team to the perimeter, and a quick swing to the weak side later, you've posted Scola in deep on the opposite block. It could just be so sweet.

If you don't have an issue with JVG then you have issues. ;)

Scola is a lot more aggressive than Battier on offense, Scola only needs to be average on defensive aggresiveness to be more aggressive overall than Battier. Besides, Scola doesn't back down from people on both of ends of the court. Attitude wise, Scola is also more emotional and fiery than Battier.

Not that Battier isn't aggressive at all, his passiveness in certian aspects display a drastic difference than that of Scola's.

LOVE the SCREAM at the end!!!
Man, the Rox will be a super exciting team to watch this season. I think his energy is going to rub off with others. Heck, maybe Yao will be doing more screaming too, now that he has a friend. :D :D
