Gerald Wallace can't shoot worth crap, but he had playing time (at least in the regular season) for Rick. It's always good to have an athletic utility player, someone who hustles.

Considering we are going to be blowing teams out of the water this season, he should get lots of minutes ;) .

Snyder is a quality player, JVG had him spot up for wayyyyy to many 3's and thats not what he is good at. I love JVG as a coach but felt he didn't give Snyder a good enough chance, I always thought Snyder was productive, especially given the few oppurtunities he was alowed to iso into the paint. It usually came off as a bucket or a couple of free throws. He trys hard, I wish he had been given a better chance.

I remember after that alley opp off the backboard dunk game, Snyder owned in that game and JVG repayed that hard work with like 3 games of bench time.

BTW I wish they added that move when he dunked(completed or not) on two Jazz players and took a nasty hit in I think the first game of the season. We were getting owned but Snyder didn't quit, and went as hard in as I can remember ANY basketball player EVER doing. Even though we lost that game, I remember that play because it was like the first game of the year and even though we started it off by losing I knew after that-that this team was going to be one tuff team and we weren't going to take sh/t from anyone. Thanks Snyder, for that one play etched in my head, your time was well spent in Houston. I remember after watching that, that the 'eye' advertising was really going to be what the team was all about.

man he would have done great against UTAH in the playoffs attacking the rim like that if he was just given the chance.

Yeah, Yao also said something about Kirk would've made a difference in the series. I hope he gets the pt to prove his true worth.

He finishes the give-and-go plays with Yao much prettier than Luther Head, especially since he dunks the ball with authority. I just wish Adelman will be able to utilize him better than JVG did.

so now its jvgs fault that snyder didnt produce more...classic.

just like it was jerry sloans...and byron scott.

it took snyder forever to get his touch back after his broken wrist and even when his wrist was healed he was still lost on the court

Man I hope we have more last breaks than we had last year. it was sad to see us mess up 70% of our potential fast breaks.

Don't want to make this a JVG-bash thread, but this was another reason why I like the coaching change. I thought Snyder could have been a very solid contributor to this team, but whatever reason, he just wasn't given the minutes.

I'm sure JVG had his reasons, but if TMac really was tired as he claims in the playoffs, I don't see why Snyder couldn't have come in for 8-10 minutes.

The Backup are going to be talented.

Wells, Snyder, Head, James, Hayes or Scola, maybe Alston if he is still on board.

    Yao
    Scola
    Battier
    McGrady
    Francis

    Go Rockets!!!

Snyder ain't too bright from the looks of it. You had to be somewhat bright to understand plays. I'm sure Sloan was sad to see him go (yeah right). Just watch the games and you'll see Snyder was lost out there on any possession other than a fast break.

I have to ask you what I asked about all the people saying Stromile wasn't being used right - why was Snyder not a solid contributor to Utah's team while he was there? How about NOK? Have you noticed that under 3 different coaches his numbers are pretty much the same? I wonder why... maybe we should ask Stromile. :D

Maybe Adelman can get something out of him. I'm guessing he'll throw in a few "RUN KIRK RUN" plays for him.

I dunno... When he wasn't running on the break, he was using corner screen and cuts to get to the basket from the perimeter and he was good at backing his man down closer to the post. He finishes well whether in transition or in the half-court. I think as long as McGrady is handling the ball, we could really use his skill-set.

On the other hand, I feel he and Bonzi are redundant.

He was actually pretty productive and a fan favorite when he played for NOK. Just had a "disagreement" with Scott during the summer league of the following offseason and was shipped out. I saw a lot of those games, and let me tell you, he showed a lot more then that he was even given the chance to under JVG. He was a good contributor to that team and, IMO, poised for a breakout the next year.
