[Video] Kevin Martin - 45 Points Vs Trail Blazers (1.5.11)

This video shows that he took a good portion of his shots under duress, generally a knock on Martin. Now that he's shown the ability to create for himself, my question is why doesn't he do this more often? Our team's problem is we lack a go-to option when defenses clamp down on the motion/ball spreading system.

Nate McMillan basically did everything they could at the end to make sure Martin didn't get the ball at the end, double-teaming him, etc. etc. In that situation, since the Portland defense is focused so much on Martin, it's up to the other dudes like Scola to pick up from there. They utterly failed at it. Not Martin.

 

yep. people seriously need to pay attention to games and not just watch them. Portland ran a double team at him as soon as he got within 3 or 4 steps of the 3 point line. and nobody else decided to show up tonight. don't blame Martin. Blame the other 4 guys on the court.
