Oh waived yet again? What a surprise.

Him and Garuba both wasted 1st round picks

It really speaks to poor draft prep imo because obviously teams are making decisions on Christopher, Garuba, TyTy etc based on practice alone. It seems as though none of these guys must have had a workout or was scouted outside of watching some game clips or whatnot.

I understand not hitting on all of your mid to late 1sts but Stone has whiffed on ALOT. Has had some huge steals too of course with the Alpi trade up, Tari, and hopefully with Cam…. But it really doesn’t excuse so many duds that seem like unforced errors.

All of these guys seem to be clear 2nd round picks just based on easy to see first impressions. With even fewer picks coming up these next few years with basically just one chance a year, Stone and co. need to do better.

After watching the Jalen and JC video I am certain Dwight Howard would be happy to have JC on his team in Taiwan.

Those guys you mention are the same ones that lots of people here on CF said we were insane for trading, that they were legitimate NBA rotation players. This board went apoplectic after those moves. And yet NONE of them have shown anything this year.

Scrubs then, scrubs now. And Nix to the pile as well.

Garuba had a couple games streaking with above 38% from Corner 3s......we shall not forget.

Basically they could be like Pat Beverley. Ply your trade over in Europe and come back.....

All fringe NBA players have it tough in the beginning but once they make it, they make it......and make decent bucks....

A lot of times it's luck too. The right coach might need a certain player for a specific role at a cheap salary, you impress you might get a decent contract afterwards.

I still remember when we pulled Gerald Green from his couch when he was about to quit the league and retire

This isn't the nfl. Most successful teams are not building their entire roster with draft picks and it isn't normal to have multiple picks or majority of your picks hit. I honestly think if they were a good team, they would have drafted differently and prob gotten more singles and doubles but bc they sucked they were trying to hit homeruns and that can lead to alot more strike outs.

Well, if Tilman and Co are serious about staying committed to Jalen they need to strongly consider bringing back his hump pillow. He's really lost his edge since Josh was shipped off. If not, then just trade him already.

We were rebuilding. We were drafting raw players with potential, hoping they can be better. We weren't drafting player who's ready to play.

I feel like you goofs do not live in reality. Have you ever looked at past players drafted between 20-30? Dating back decades and decades, you are supremely lucky If you find a guy that is a passable NBA player.

Because we don’t see them in practice, scrimmage, etc. That’s my point. The evidence shows that anyone in the league who actually sees them play and perform behind the scenes immediately realizes they are unplayable in the NBA.

A lot of people here were intrigued by what we saw in terms of physical attributes, but that’s working with a limited evidence set that obviously multiple NBA teams including the Rockets saw behind the scenes and saw immediately that the attributes don’t conclude that they are up to the task.

Its a sign that the Rockets scouting really isn’t going as deep as they need to see what seems obvious when they actually are seen playing basketball.

Not sure I agree with that. If you are taking big swings you are drafting guys like Bruno Cabucolo or Hassan Whiteside types. Instead Stone took a 6’8” center and a 6’3” scoring wing. If you’re going to use a mid to late first to swing big I really don’t think these are the type of prospects I would take personally.

Maybe it’s not Stones fault and Tillman cut the scouting budget behind the scenes or maybe it’s a Covid restriction problem but either way I do see a problem with the scouting. In the Morey era, love or hate Morey, for whatever reason that scouting team just consistently nailed it with solid late first/second round picks in terms of understanding who can actually play and contribute.

It was obvious the Rockets had seen ALOT of a guy like Patrick Patterson or Aaron Brooks, etc. They knew they could play. Again maybe not Stones fault given circumstances but the fact is with many of Stones picks it’s almost like they’ve never actually seen these guys play basketball, and there’s this shock that they actually suck.

I do not think it is that complicated....either that player is really talented.

If the guy is just average or just very below average, does he have an elite skill that can keep him in the league?

TyTy, Garuba and Co. have to find a skill or ability that keeps them in the NBA.......
