if I had a choice between hanging with karl malone or you. I'd pick malone. cause you are a fake fan who pisses on what dream did for this town. everyone here who watched the rockets in the 80s and 90s knows about this matchup. I guess this video offends you. so go watch your bulls videos. I don't want you banned at all. you are a perfect example of what a fake fan is.

its sad that some people don't appreciate hakeem and those great teams and have the nerve to call themselves rockets fans.
    as max would say
    to hell with them!

Only 5 minute clip but you can see how Hakeem used to control the paint.

Bulls had a hard time in the paint against the Rockets.

So I must be a noob because I think Jordan was, actually, a pretty gosh-darn great player.

In fact, I'll go out on a limb here and say Jordan was better than Vernon Maxwell.

    There I said it.

This is not a question about who had better season records and which team "lasted longer". The Rockets swept an Orlando Magic team that had Shaq on it and beat a very very good Knicks team. While I do not share the sentiment that some on this board feel (eg. Rox would have swept them, Vernon Maxwell is a better basketball player than Michael Jordan), they did match up extremely well against the Bulls and probably would have beaten them at least once.

its that the rockets played great on d on those teams, and the video shows mad max could play some great d on you know who

i'll go out on a limb and say that steve francis will not return

Yeah, this is kinda where I'm at with the whole "Rockets won their championships while MJ was out" deal. It's probably the biggest "what if" in rockets history. Because we DON'T know for sure that we would have won if MJ was in the league during those 2 years. We did match up very well against them and I'd be willing to bet we'd still have at least one championship.

who knows, but we only what DID. and this was a what DID video.

for the non-r****ds here, you can clearly see Phil Jackson vs Rudy T strategies at work.

I note the great team and individual defense the Rockets played.

and Otis Thorpe's bad free throws, but he could toss Stacey King and Scott Williams with one arm. That dude was strong.

    Ban all doubters.

And LISTEN fools. Jordan was in the playoffs during our second championship run. He lost to the team we swept.

    No excuses.

One of Jordan's greatest strengths was driving in the paint. He loved going baseline. Dream clogged the paint, as well as Otis Thorpe. Horry's length contributed as well.

Dream's speed on defense made any driving lanes closed off and Jordan didn't get the same opportunities to abuse teams in the paint. It's one of the biggest reasons why Jordan typically struggled against the Rockets.

In the Eastern Conference the only real shot blocking threat with tough perimeter defense was the Knicks with Ewing. Ewing wasn't nearly as fast as Dream. It would have been amazing to see the Bulls and Rockets clash 4 times in the regular season and routinely in the playoffs if they were in the same division.

The Rockets were a nightmare perfectly matched up to abuse and shut down the Bulls.

I agree with you 100%. If Mike had stayed I do believe both finals would have been really great to watch and each team coming away with one title. But some poeople on here seen to believe the Rockets would have just killed the Bulls both times easily.

Calm down, man. 5 min video doesn't say much. That's it. Every poor player will have a five minute stretch excellent performance at some time, and every excellent player will have a five minute strech poor play.

You can argue based on more games. 5 minutes just doesn't say much. You made it like a big deal.
