Still has a way to go. Let's not overhype the guy. Because when he has a bad game, this board will go into fits talking about how Hill is nothing but a throw in. Hell, even before JHill got playing time, dudes already wrote him off.

Of course he still has plenty to work on, but he's been impressive the last 2 games. He's more than a "throw in"...Morey wanted this guy! To me, he's at least equal, if not better, than Landry in his rookie year

Two games in a row with 20+ minutes of playing time has showed that J-Chill has double double potential when given minutes. This guy looks like he could be a nice replacement for Landry. I don't know if I would be willing to trade him for Chris Bosh or Amare, people might critisize me for saying that, but this guy might become a player like that!!!

Couldn't have said it better myself. You have to give this guy touches, especially if/when we're out of the playoff race. Why would we just put him on the shelf like the knicks did? I'm sure the strength trainers will put another 15 to 20 pounds on him in the offseason, so let's let him start his game development now. Game experience is invaluable.

His good chemistry with Bud is prob from their college days together. I wonder how much Morey listened to Bud about Hill before the trade? Given Chase's high bball IQ he might have had some useful points to make.

You pull that trigger. Yeah it's possible but definitely not probable that Hill becomes that type of player. We need that type of player before Yao is retired/in a wheelchair.

The Rocks aren't winning a championship this season, so I have to agree with you in that this kid needs some clock to help him develop for next season. If or when they fall out of playoff contention, I expect to see a complete opposite move from Adelman unlike Jeff VanGundy, and thats a heavy dose of Hill, Budinger and Taylor for sure. Then you give Battier and Scola an early set of golf clubs.

He has all the initial talents you want to see - runs well, quickness, jumping ability, physical presence for rebounds, and some low post moves. This summer will tell more about his growth than the next months of the season but there is nothing like actual PT to learn the game. I am all for keeping him at 15 - 20 min a game for the rest of the year.

If we could add (Monroe, Whiteside, or Cousins) to team up with Hill in the front court, our future front court would be complete....given Yao & Scola's age...

I hope that Morey doesn't really do that. You maybe listen your stars, but even their opinions shouldn't count too much.

We could have Lamar Odom running the break with Steve and Cuttino on the wings if we did things to appease our players.

i would be more than happy if his production over the last few games become his average next season 12 pts 8 boards maybe 1-2 blocks off the bench

watched the game last night on broadband replay was pretty impressed with the mobility he showed, the guy needs some playing time and experience i think having a org like houston is great for him. A lot of hard working guys, young and vets, an old college teammate and rookie in Chase and an exceptional coaching staff.

If he is traded for a all-star level play like bosh i wouldnt be sad at all. all-stars like bosh dont just come around that often. Hill's ceiling could be even a poor man's bosh which would be phenominal imo.

its great to see some PROMISING young talent on this team and developing something we havent really had in a long time in the jvg days.

i mean we have had a chance to see players like brooks, landry, scola (not as young), chase and now hopefully hill come in and grow on this team.

looking forward to see how he does against the nuggets against one of the more talented and atheltic bigs in Nene.

That wouldn't be so bad, in retrospect.

Remember, Chris Bosh would not only be better than Hill, he would also take a lot more salary. We only have so much of that to play with.

I'm all for adding more talent, but IF (I said IF) Jordan Hill is the real thing, at very low money, let's use our money on SF. OK, use the money we spend on Scola, Battier, and Ariza on a top SF, and let Chase play backup SF.

Not bad? Even with Yao's injury problems, I rather have him.

    Steve + Cuttino + Odom
    or
    T-Mac + Odom

    = Certain mediocrity

Now we at least had a chance (even if it was remote) to win big.

Hill has looked so good, that I now feel that the Rox have a better chance of going on a run to make the playoffs. I hope he gets some time guarding Gasol or Randolph. That said Chuck is still the best post defender on team but Hill is a better rebounder. He can get those "NBA Rebounds" that we've been missing.

Athletic, long and has a nose for the ball. I like this kid and I can't wait to see more of him this season and next.

He definitely shows promise... how much? It's hard to say. That's why after 2-3 games where he's gotten enough minutes to actually get in some kind of game flow, I wouldn't say what his limits are. And I certainly wouldn't precede a description of him with "a poor man's..." He's young and hasn't been given much incentive to fulfill his potential. He may give the Rockets a better chance to keep their roster intact if he develops. It's always nice to think of having "superstar" caliber players at as many positions as possible. But I don't think it's an imperative that we have a "Bosh-type" player next year to be contenders. At the risk of sounding too emotional, I really think there are a core group of players the Rockets have assembled that is special -- not can be. Skills may need to be improved, but attitude, energy and cohesiveness "feel" special when watching them.

If nothing gets done this offseason regarding a SnT perhaps Morey targets the deadline. But that gives an opportunity to see how the players that were big contributors this year play with Yao. If Jordan Hill improves his awareness on offense and defense(something that comes for rookies quite easily) within the system he could be very valuable. Hill, Budinger, Ariza, Martin, improved Brooks and Lowry. These are unknown quantities when placed next to Yao.
