Talent wise... AK is pretty much a flashier version of Shane Battier. Not great at creating his own shots, do pretty well with garbage baskets on offense (Shane is better at jump shots, AK better around the basket becaue he can jump), great help defender but only above average one-on-one. The biggest difference, though, is Shane costs around 6 mil a year and AK costs twice that. Rockets are lucky to have Shane.
I understand what you're saying, but Matt Harpring doesn't seem nearly as intelligent in interviews as Derek Fisher.
okay guys... no shame in a man crying when he really cares about something. We all know those europeans are sensitive. For all we know V-span cries every day that he doesn't shoot 1000%. Oh man i can't keep a straight face while typing that.. AHAHAHHH
I think AK47 is a jerk. The way he was popping off early in the season about offense was very selfish. And what do you know: The problem was AK himself, not Sloan. I liked him before this season but he just couldn't take the fact there were two better players on offense on that team.
so I assume you dislike Mike James too? Fact is, it is extremely tough to go from being a franchise player to a third option, especially when you are still in your prime. If AK opts out and gets bought out in his current contract, I wouldn't mind the rockets picking him up. He just needs the right people around him. I think the Houston players would embrace him w/ open arms, especially with the type of guys we have.
Fisher really did give a great interview... perhaps the best I've heard an NBA athlete speak. I can't feel sorry for AK47 though... all problems aside, he has a hot wife who encourages him to sleep around. Enough said.
Yeah, that whole "never won a playoff series" thing annoys me to death, imagine how frustrating it must be to Tmac to hear that question again and again and again...or maybe thats just Bill Walton's voice.
Im pretty sure that series against the Spurs when he hit the shot with .4 seconds left went 2-0 Spurs, then the Lakers won 4 straight. Might be wrong though.
Thanks for sharing, Hilltopper. Any chance we get to watch the Sports Sunday show online? A bit off topic here, where do the visitor team practise before game day? Do they practise at Toyota Center? [Edit:] nvm, checked sina.com and they mentioned that Jazz practised at Toyota Center. And our players have to practise at the "Training Court".
AK47 Cried After Game#1 AK47 Cried After Game#1, not because Jazz lost, but because he was in Sloan's doghouse and only played a mesirable 17 minutes. http://www.click2houston.com/video/12838919/index.html See above video around 11:25. Also in the same video, watch Sloan didn't give a shxt on a reporter's question to give AK more play time. I guess AK will leave Jazz soon.
I never heard Matt Harpring (or any other active player) handle questions with the maturity and poise that Derek Fisher did in that interview. Race has nothing to do with it.
What the Jazz fans think about AK crying: (interesting) http://www.jazzfanz.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=22241 This reply is funny:
It's not like he was sitting in a corner sobbing by himself. He was probably asked to comment on his lack of play, and the emotions just boiled over. It happens, and I can't blame him for it. At least he cares.
