why do people here hate him so much? I really don't find him that hilarious or terrible. I really have no problem with him

I know that. Given an additional period of 6 years i'm sure they could of found someone else just as good as Conan O'Brien. Forcing a guy out who is a ratings monster for someone who has struggled in the ratings against Craig Ferguson just doesn't make that much sense to me. I understand they wanted to keep Conan, just not sure i would of paid that type of price.

It may be more because of how NBC jobbed Letterman in the process. God bless Carson for telling him to bolt.

Leno is a nice guy, I've got nothing against him, but the Tonight Show is just so bland. It just never had that magic with him that it had with Carson. I really wish NBC had tried hard to get an American version of Top Gear made with Leno topping the bill, that would have been perfect. He could have still been on tv, had a show where his knowledge of cars is useful, and he wouldn't be raining on Conan's parade.

Fallon has grown on me. I wasn't sure how he'd do, but its not like I had any other choices for replacing Conan in mind, so I just sat back and gave him a chance and he's won me over so far.

There's something about Fallon that is just awkward.

It seems like he's forcing the issue too much. It's not natural at all.

Leno was much better the Letterman, Dave's shows are so boring..Jay had life and entertained...I am annoyed with Conan, but maybe he will grow on me..but i've never liked him...

Never really been a fan of any of the late night shows. That was a great way to end it, though. Jay has always seemed like a genuine guy. My dad met him on a plane once and he was very nice. I'm not crazy about where he's going with the primetime slot. It's caused some good shows to be on the edge or go off the air all together. Conan is funny, but it's always seemed to me like he was where he belonged.

Now I kind of want to go back and watch that HBO original movie "The Late Shift" which was about the whole Carson/Letterman/Leno thing.

Leno's show was classic to me... especially "Headlines" and some of the other skits he did. On the flip side I've never been able to get into Letterman except when he has a few guests I want to see. Jimmy Kimmel is hilarious too when I watch it.

Leno's comedy was always lowbrow and managed to mostly come at the expense of another person or group.

Letterman became incomprehensibly unfunny at one point.

I hope Conan continues to evolve.

Leno is great because he is always consistent. He's not going to make you roll with his humor but occasionally, his skits are hilarious. Conan is so awesome because he is so raw. His humor isn't as manufactured as other talk show hosts.

I prefer Leno over Letterman. I will probably even catch Leno's new show this fall and if I like it I will keep watching it.

Was Chevy Chase really worse than Magic Johnson?

I don't watch either but I was a letterman guy. I started watching letterman about 1987 late nights after carson. carson was pure class. I do think both leno and letterman are extremely funny. I just preferred letterman's obnoxious humor.

No ... I forgot that if you are young that you have to like Conan's r****ded skits and dog puppet skills.

    Stereotype much?

P.S. You can stop texting in your votes for twilight now ... The MTV Movie awards are over.

Toss up I would say. I think there was probably more expectations from Chase. Magic is a ball player and not an extremely articulate one at that. Would you give Clyde Drexler a show and expect much out of him?
Either way... my point was to show how ridiculous that other statement about Leno was.
