Who doesn't notice? Its been discussed here before, but he gets a pass because of his offense and hustle...when he doesnt have a big behind him he follows the ball too much. That's what makes his defense go from bad to awful.
Its been said before : Scola is tired. He plays year round, and then in this game Adelman plays him the entire second half and overttime on the second night of a back-to-back. Should we be surprised that his defense would be so awful by the end of the night?
Terrible coaching by our terrible coach again. Let's play Brad Miller for 35 mins against two athletic bigs instead of Patterson who was our best defensive player this game.
That's part of it, especially on a back to back, but he's been leaving his man all season, even early in games. He's still moving and chasing the ball, so he's not just standing around fatigued. He's mainly paying too much attention to the guard with the ball and shadowing him. He doesn't trust the defense of his teammates. I guess i cant blame him for it, but he still gets caught out of position even when his teammates manage to stay in front of their man. He needs a defensive vet next to him to avoid trying to take ownership of nearly every defensive posession on the inside. Camby would be great, but probably won't happen.
they ran the same ****ing play the final 3 minutes almost every time! I remember screaming at the TV. PnR... Pass to milsap at the free throw line swoosh. Thats beyond shamefully ignorant.
defensively it was more scola...miller was drawing charges and putting a body on guys, even had 2 blocks....even offensively scola wasnt that much of an advantage in the 4th qrtr and OT, but Miller was bad there as well.
I'm going back to watching Marshawn Lynch's run.. If only we could get the codes to put Scola into Beast Mode..
