You go girl! Haha It is indeed a shame someone with some many bb skills would have such a weak emotional state of mind. I often said if Mac had Kobe's uber competitive spirit, that he would be better than Kobe.
whoops. meant to post this in the chron article one. I had 2 comment windows up. oh well, same topic. Yeah, he definitely has a weak emotional state of mind. You can see how bothered he is and that attitude he has in the OP video when asked touchy questions like about Regrets. He just cannot be genuine. He always has this "chip on his shoulder" attitude and tone. Does he seriously not have any regrets? couldn't he have talked more genuinely about his time in Houston? He should've been more honest and real throughout that interview and past interviews. It would've earned him a lot more respect.
I have never touched the Mcgrady debacle in this forum and I think people are too extremist in either side. He did some good things and sacrifices for us too, he wasn’t that mentally weak pre-knee injury, he showed great heart the season of the streak, he sacrificed his body even knowing that team didn’t have much of a chance after Yao went down. We could have beaten Utah that year if Alston didn’t’ miss a couple of games, that was a very resilient team and Mcgrady held the flag, I think people forget about that, if we go with maybes, maybe the debacle doesn’t happen if he stops playing after he got hurt. I am not a Mcgrady apologetic, and I know he messed up the last couple of seasons here, but I cut him some slack just because those physical problems don’t mind if you are the mentally toughest guy or weakest around, they will come either way, and for a guy to go from once being considered arguably the best player to being an afterthought in the NBA, that’s very hard to swallow, it doesn’t matter who you are. To end this I must say don’t only remember him for giving up the last couple of seasons, the Mcgrady that gave up was only a shadow of his former self, none of that would have happened without unfortunate health problems. Remember as well that he once tried, even though he could never carry us in his shoulders, nor was it the best result to expect him to. Good riddance to T-Mac, no hard feelings here, I hope he can get his career back on track. PS: You've got plenty material with his personality but making fun of his injuries? it's not cool.
He's saying the same things cause media keeps asking the same questions.... "hmmm, let me try and think of more ways to say I'm healthy and it's just mental" Anybody that's played basketball and has had a bad injury knows it stays on your mind for a long time... That surgery and his back problems will be on his mind for a while... You can't place a time on that. I think he feels like he would rather play like he is than to get hurt again until he's 100% ready. Now just standing in one spot he has no excuse for. His knee isn't gonna fall off if he makes cuts to the basket from time to time. There's other things he could do until he's confident enough to attempt a 1/3 of what he used to. If contact is what he's afraid of, running the floor getting transitional buckets is his beat bet. If all the criticism he's gotten isn't motivation enough then...*shrugs*
You are too much of a deep-thinker for guys like Mac. Guys like that are shallow-minded. No way they will readily admit to having made serious mistakes.
You're not giving him enough credit- he did admit it was his fault that those fans in the stands ordered heineken and got budweiser.
LOL man, stop drooling over the girl in the forum. This looks as if T Mac was after her and you are bad talking him with ulterior motives.
Lol at gah. How can I be drooling if I don't even know what she looks like? For what I know she could look like a 400 lb auntie Sally. I know two things: 1) She is a great bb fan with some interesting things to say. 2) SheMac is still a douche.
I hope he has a carreer night in some category.......say assists? That way all you haters will STFU already, it wasnt his fault. Get The F**K Over It!!!
hahhaa, make sure its loud so i can hear it on TV...although, the "toes" can be for Yao lol I agree with you here... i've actually brought this up a couple of times in the GARM - the games that Rafer did start in that series, the Rockets did win. There wasn't any other results that could have been expected from a team at full strength vs. a team at half strength (Deke, Scola, McGrady, Battier, B.Jackson - starting 5). Regardless of Rafer's short comings, it was pretty evident that he was pretty important to this team's success as well - he was the QB of the Rockets... That's true, its not cool, but sometimes, it just gets so frustrating be a Rockets fan (99.9% of the time due to injuries) that you just have to make light of the situation. I've gone through some tough injuries myself and they're not easy to bounce back from - which is why i dont think "booing" McGrady is warranted.. regardless of how the marriage ended..
Because reaching conclusions based off an incomplete sample sure is the most sound thing to do. It's like if you started watching the Rockets in 99-00, and reached a conclusion on Hakeem based on what you saw, completely disregarding his awe-inspiring dominance from years past. If you weren't a girl, tinman would tear you apart instead of fantasizing about tearing you apart. Your criticisms of McGrady are valid, I won't argue that. But the simple fact that you are able to dismiss his good years here, which you have even admitted to never witnessing, doesn't sit well with me.
