One of my favorite pinball games is the old WWF Royal Rumble game!

When I was in downtown Las Vegas this past weekend, there was a pretty cool Simpsons pinball game in the Las Vegas Club arcade that kept letting me play for free. Played about 10 times for nothing! Got my pinball fix in for a time. The old school Simpsons arcade game is another one of my favorites.

There was a pattern for that game that made it beatable.

After playing the pattern for a while, the game loses its attraction.

Where is the Double Dragon machine?

I think the initial releases of Galaga had only a slow fire setting and after the game became popular, they released a version where the arcade could adjust the fire rate to fast or slow. Obviously, the faster fire rate gave the player a huge advantage and allowed most novices the ability to reach the 1,000,000 plateau. Galaxian was too weird...not only could you move your ship horizontally, but also vertically.

No Discs of Tron??? I am appalled.

I guess all my money will be spent on Time Pilot, Punch-Out and regular Tron.

    :(

Yeah, I'm going to have to try and remember all the correct routes to take on that motorcycle part. Other than that, it'll be just like getting back on a bike.

    Bump.

Reminder, it starts on Friday. I'll wear a Rox T-shirt, perhaps we can use that as a way to spot fellow BBS'ers?

rH, thank you for the heads up on this. I hope you can attend.

    Man, I loved Galaga.

Question for all you Galaga players....I used to not shoot at any of the initial ships flying into formation so I could get the maximun points when the trio of ships would come at you. Also, if you wait to get a double ship as the last thing you do before the bonus round, it would line you up dead center so that you could kill all the ships in the bonus round without moving your ship from side to side. Anyone else do these things?

Also, there was a game where you piloted your ship vertically though enemy ships, including asteroids and fuel cells. It had a "hyperbomb" (I think) and a slow motion option you could use at times. Anyone remember that?

Sounds a little like Zaxxon, but don't hold me to it.

I'm going to try and make this, depending on my band schedule.

    Gyruss?

I rolled Galaga over Memorial Day weekend on MAME:

when the storms knock out your phone and DSL you are left with a highly entertaining Memorial Day weekend.

I do some of those things, Behad, but after playing a couple of times you can align your ships by shooting the righthand of your two bullet-rocket-ammo-thingies between the second-from-right and third-from-right numbers in the high score. at me

Some of that sounds like Stargate or Defender, but not all of it.
