Damn, yeah... that was pretty awful. I haven't bought an NBA Live since 2003, and I've bought every NBA 2k game since 2k8. I really hope NBA Live brings something to the table, because it is really tough to support gameplay like this.
I've been reading some commentary from game sites, and I've read several that said on second playthroughs they witnessed, the gameplay was different according to how the player acted, which weapons were used, and how outnumbered the main characters were. Apparently Ellie will help Joel out if he runs out of ammo or a number of other scenarios that come up during combat. Sounds like it'll be a lot more dynamic than the stage demo looked.
