If you really want a basketball game I'd say 2k7, but I really wasn't that impressed with it.

I know it was a 360. I could have swore it was the life but you definatelty know more about video games than i do. SO Im not sure of what it was. but for what i could remember it was a hell of a lot better than either of the ps2 versions of live and 2k. They are severely flawed.

On another note: I like to behind the game curve so that i can get good games after they have been out a while and a hell of alot cheaper.

I picked up a Used version of "God of War" and it is awesome!

RC, Any chances of a Streets of Rage / Golden Axe update?

I have Life on the pc, and it is not good, one of the major problems i have is that the opponents point guard, takes about 60% of the shots of that team, and he gets to the foul line about 20 times per game. it is just not fun.
2K7 on the Xbox is amazing. so i would choose that one.

Good to see all the NBA Jam love around here. It was the funnest NBA game, I've ever played.

I was pretty good. I was murder on the defensive end with some excellent "pushing" skills, and the knack for being able to block dunks. Also on the snes, there was a trick where if you shot 3's as quickly as possible (instead of releasing it at the top of your jump like conventional wisdom stated), it was almost 75% that it was going in regardless of a guy's three point ability. But my favorite move was the "jump fake and pass the ball" number. There was a much less chance of the ball getting stolen that way.

There is a new Golden Axe game in development by Sega for the 360/PS3. They showed off a trailer at E3 2006 and some pics, but I can only find part of the trailer at Youtube for some reason:
    <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/YIP-gLts4kA"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/YIP-gLts4kA" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
I can't find any better versions at any of the big media sites.
