I really want this game, but something bothers me... I've heard the ending isn't dependent on any of the decisions you make at all. Is that true? If so, weak. I'm still planning on buying at some point (I want it NOW), but I don't feel like paying retail or even $50. $40 would be the sweet spot.
from what I have read, the ending depends on your choices and there are up to 20 different endings....which is cool with me, some people will just run through the game...asking as few questions as possible just to say they beat it...but if take your time and really look around for clues, I say its well worth it
The endings are ENTIRELY dependent on the choices you made through out the game, infact one choice different here or there really alters what happens in the end greatly.
Okay, I've been completely misinformed then... Thanks guys for clearing that up! Ugh, makes me want it all that much more.
Is there a lot of mundane movements? The one thing that bugged me in the demo was that motions/button sequences were added for the stupidest little things: squeezing past the dumpster, prepping the inhaler, stepping under the police tape. That fight was pretty gripping, though it was probably made more exciting because of how slow everything else was.
That game looks like it would be really cool for about an hour -- then I think it would start getting boring with all the repetitive little tasks.
I dont often advocate PS3 games but my lord are you missing out if you dont play this...you seriously get wrapped up in the story, esp in the second half it really makes you make some tough choices and I had questions of my own morality after making them... this is a TRUE GEM
quite the opposite .. the game does start off slow and you might be bored after a hour but DONT STOP PLAYING.. the story just absorbs you in and you wont be able to put it down after the begining.
If you have an old PS2 laying around, or even a PC, pick up Indigo Prophecy for like $10 and give it a whirl. Should be a good indicator (albeit much less graphically impressive) of how you'd feel about a game like Heavy Rain. Personally, this game + Gran Turismo 5 + The Last Guardian + BluRay functionality may just be enough to force me into a PS3...hell, maybe even today.
I think this game is a rental or borrow for me. Still want to play it, but I only buy games that have a lot of replayability.
How does this not have replayability? 22 endings, 50 or so different paths to take...how does that equate to only a rental!
Wow, totally forgot about Indigo Prophecy. I was interested in the game years ago, and just forgot about it. Was looking for a new copy today and since it is out of print, it is listed at $160 from Amazon! Luckily the Gamestop next to my house still had one used copy remaining for only $10, so I picked it up this evening.
