I know this was already stated, but I just realized GTA V is going to be twice the size of actual Manhattan.
Those fanatics at GTAforums who obsessively comb over every screenshot and piece of news believe the map is pretty big but the actual city will only be 1/5-1/4 the size of the whole map with the rest being wilderness/mountains/water/etc. The actual city of Los Santos will most likely be slightly smaller than Liberty City in GTA IV.
Well, that's slightly disappointing. However, the game is already amazing completely disregarding map size alone.
GTA got more serious. Saints Row got more silly. I think GTA V will bring back some of the craziness from San Andreas and Vice City. Especially with Trevor. I thought I might be excited for SR4, but I watched an hour long preview on IGN last week and I'm just not that interested.
some interpretations of the possible map http://i.imgur.com/V1EmSCB.jpg http://i.imgur.com/l4DOagk.jpg http://i.imgur.com/s9j9Xir.jpg http://i.imgur.com/56YhNbj.jpg
Yeah i didnt like SR3 it was too silly and stupid, SR2 was a lot better to me. I was hoping SR4 would be more serious but they're making 10x more stupid. The big thing SR has over GTA is creation and ability to buy things, but now V is going to have those things so SR is going to be in the dust.
<br> Actually, the reason it wasn't funny is because those posts were worthless. What is there to make fun of him for? He has a point.
Actually I thought his comments were ridiculous as well. "GTA better come out for next gen" LOL or what? Is he gonna go "GTA" on Rockstar? I still play GTA 4 til this day and have as much fun as the first day. If GTA V doesn't drop on next gen, so be it. Have no problems playing it on current gen. Plus there will be a million other games to play on next gen. Not that big of a deal. It just a video game.
god forbid i post with a little emphasis, i must be a ridiculous nerdy snob who's going to go GTA on rockstar.
I've never been owned a GTA game before (just never interested me), but after playing Red Dead Redemption and seeing what Rockstar's all about, I'm pretty excited for this one. Looks pretty great.
The size of the map doesn't interest me, the interactivity does. If it feels like you're traveling through a movie set where most buildings are just painted boxes that can't be entered it will be disappointing. I agree that looking back, GTA IV lost a bit of the GTA magic. I recently bought Saints Row 2 to kill some time and couldn't believe how much fun that was. Kept comparing it to GTA IV. So I threw GTA IV back in for the first time in about two years and it just was not anywhere near as fun. I hope they do bring back some of those bat***** crazy moments in GTA V.
That map is just a fan's rendering per Reddit. I don't even want a big map. Itll take forever to learn.
