Dead Rising is good fun. The concept was great. The first game was a little too 'hardcore' for most people though, with the sketchy save system and little guidance in fighting the bosses. The game is pretty much designed that the best way to approach it was to play through not really caring about survivors and missions and just kill a ****load of zombies. Then take your leveled up character for a playthrough. Killing tons of zombies in all sorts of inventive ways is fun, though. Co-op addition pretty much gaurantees I'll be picking this up.
Just got done playing it. Hurt dropping 65 bucks and the guy at gamestop talked me into pre-ordering Black Ops. So far it's pretty fun.....you can pretty much pick everything around you up.....shoot bow and arrows....ride tri-cycles....skateboards. Combining weapons is pretty sweet....and being able to tell the stupid ass survivors to stay in one spot helps out a lot. It gets repetitive at times....but if I get bored....there's nothing like slaughtering some zombies with anything I can get my hands on.
I don't know how you guys can afford 65 dollars on a game. I usually wait a year and get if half the price.
Just because I watch my money and don't a full price for something that will come down anyways doesn't make me a slacker. Its penny pinching.
I was kidding. Good for you for penny pinching. But to answer your original question. 1. They make enough where $65 ain't jack. 2. $65 is a lot but this is something they think is worthwhile to spend their entertainment dollars on. 3. $65 is a lot but they are not good with their money and have put no thought into why they should wait.
Yeah, $65 is a lot, but I probably still spend that much in a weekend or two (bars, movies, etc.). Might as well keep myself safe by staying home.
Not necessarily a slacker, just cheap, or poor. The game is fun. I have had two frustrating deaths where I hadn't saved. There is this one stairwell outside on the strip where about 200 zombies are crammed up against a building. I made an IED (propane tank + nails) and threw it into them. Shot it. Kablooey. Leveled up once and almost all the way again. That's fun.
The IGN review said it was more of the same from the first one. If that is the case, I will pass. I hated the limited time concept, the save features, and the boss fights.
Lets see who gets the last laugh when at 65 your still working cause you don't have enough to retire.
Spoiler There are four hidden in the city. You can pawn it (hit ATMs for quick cash), and a few survivors and a boss offer up some when safe/killed SPOILER! Save has three slots now. Boss fights are tough early on, especially if you stumble in on it. I avoided most until I had enough inventory slots.
Game looks very fun....just disappointed that a game like this doesn't have local split-screen co-op or multiplayer modes. Oh well I guess thats the present of gaming
