The other kid is an idiot. Even though it is a small lake, a fall like that could cause injury. I think he's old enough to know that.

The fact the other kid is an idiot is negated by the harsher fact that the fat kid cried.

Nowadays, that "Te Bañaste" or "Te la Bañas" is not really a translated form of the "bathing" verb, per se. It's the new "eres gacho" or "¡Qué gacho...!" or "eres mamón". Mostly it will have a negative connotation, but used to praise only when you sarcastically say it to someone you know.

You can use it for many people, or one. If your coworkers take too long at breaks, you can say "¡No sean bañados con los 'breaks', güeyes!"

Yeah, I know. Remember, I live in the valley. I just felt the way it was used was saying along the lines of "you bathed", pointing out the obvious, that he was forced to take a bath. I guess it works on two levels...good stuff!

UPDATE: After seeing the video enough times to be called a sadistic b*stard, I find that the kid's name is EDGAR. THe other kid's name is apparently either P*nch*, P3nd3j0, gUey, or 'vato'. :D

Hey Swoly, is it offensive for an non-Hispanic to call an Hispanic a "vato?" Some Hispanic friends of mine call me that on occasion in jest, and I was just wondering if I could reply back using that word. Been wondering for a while, and I didn't want to start a new thread on it.

Mr. B., it's not "offensive", but it depends on where they're from, how long you've known them, etc.

I don't use it and it is somewhat derrogatory only to refer to someone in the third person, just like Edgar said it in his "P*nch* vato p*nd*j0...!" In this case, he meant it as saying it to himself that the dude really messed up on him by making him fall. If he really knows the other kid, he will call him 'Hey, vato, [help me!]'.

It is mostly used freely by the "low riders" and the mexican-american born-and-raised here dudes more often, and by close friends if they're from Mexico and don't speak much English.

Usually it is said to someone almost as close as "dude", but you wouldn't want to just blurt it out to someone just because they look Hispanic. I wouldn't take offense to it, either way, if you called me that.

I just don't use it, unless someone knows that I am kidding around. Not very classy to use it. It's like calling another adult, 'yo, my n*gga!'... I don't use that, either.

(If anyone else wants to add to my response to Mr.Brigthside, help out. I might be wrong since it is not really defined.)

Thanks Swoly. What about the word "cabron?" I've heard it has good connotations and bad ones. Is that right?
