Yes. Gasol is 7'1" ish(Euro pre-draft measurements) and Dwight is 6'11" with shoes.

Both guys are freakishly long, but Dwights athleticism & strength make him a tough matchup for every other big man in the league.

I think Gasol's role will be deminished even further with Dwight on the floor with him. If they are planning on keeping Gasol, it might be smart for Mike Brown to work out rotations where they can have Gasol on the floor with the 2nd unit mostly. You can run the offense through him when Nash/Kobe/Howard are on the bench.

Solves their bench depth issue greatly when you have Gasol there to run your offense through him. However, I just dont see Brown having the guts to move Gasol to bench, or refigure rotations around that much to potentially have to keep him out of the game in the 4th quarter.

Guess who started chucking three pointers at the end? when there was still plenty of time on the clock.

Gasol is 7 ft tall. DHo is a little under 7 ft (some listings say 6'10, others say 6'11)

it's possible that you didn't get past the first sentence judging by your reply, but what he suggests seems reasonable.

I think I might have to root for Miami this year. I don't want to see this stacked Lakers squad win a championship.

Lakers are built perfectly to dethrone the Heat. Strong at the big man spots, strong at PG. The only positions where Miami has an advantage is at the wings...and there Lebron is going to have to deal with Artest and Wade with Kobe. If they stay healthy, they'll come out of the West and they're my pick to win it all. Kobe gets #6 with Lebron looking on and then 2014 becomes a repeat with Lebron trying to get #2 and prevent Kobe from topping MJ.

Against a lot of Sacramento's bench too. Brooks went off.

Lakers do look good but their bench sucks and they still can't defend the 3 lol

Oh I read it. Sure, injuries can derail a team. Lebron could get injured tomorrow and then that derails the Heat.

But to definitively declare that the Lakers "will not do good in the regular season", is just laughable. They're one of the favorites, if not THE favorite, to win the Finals this year. Literally absolute worst case scenario is they finish as the 3rd seed, and that's with injuries. And that is still doing very well.

Once again....to say the Lakers "will not do good in the regular season" is just wrong. The Rockets, Bobcats, and Magic "will not do good in the regular season", but the Lakers? Please....they'll be just fine.

Never did I ever think that I could find myself rooting to the Heat, not in a million years. But if the finals were to come to the Lakers vs. them, then I guess I will be hating the Heat a little less. The Lakers are the 1% percent of the NBA.

    Wanna bet?

Even Miami only got 58 wins in the weak East in 1st year together and their Big 3 were all in prime and fully healthy. 3 of the Lakers big 4 are in the wrong end of 30. I could see them not topping 55 wins which means a 3-5 seed = not good in regular season.

I don't think you understand what I meant. I did say the Lakers are favorite to go to the Finals in the West. But favorite to the Finals doesn't necessarily mean superb regular season record as well.

Also, you have to understand "good or bad" is relative to expectations.

Rockets, Bobcats, Magic getting 40 wins = good

Lakers getting 50 wins = not good

Miami didn't have a dominant big man like Dwight. As much as i dislike the lakers just having howard makes them a top defensive team, a top rebounding team and to top it off they also have steve nash who will run that offense to a point. That starting five is scary good, and barring injuries they should win a lot of games.

You thought the same thing last year. And the year before.

The fact that you brought up Kobe and MJ in the same sentence shows that you're nothing more than a Kobe fan-boy.

Ugh. Yeah, I thought they'd win it last year. I thought Bynum would be healthy and I thought their defense would be much improved under Mike Brown.

    Kobe fan-boy??

Please. He's a superstar, one of the GOATs, but I don't like him. He ranks right up there with Karl on my least liked GOATs list.

Why don't you tell us who is going to beat the Lakers this year, ole Sammy boy?? You tell me who is going to beat them this year and then cut on me about picking the Lakers. But just the random drive-by shooting...not acceptable. Have some sack and pick your team.

By the way, I'm not a Lakers fan either. Nor am I a Thunder fan. Nor a Mavs fan. Nor a fan of any other team in the West. I'm a Rox fan.
