That's the biggest difference I've noticed. Earlier in the season, he was very hesitant after getting the ball. That led to a lot of turnovers or kickouts to shooters with little time left on the shotclock. Now he's being aggressive and going right at his defender(s). I think also his improved foul-shooting is a factor in his more assertive moves. Before, he was afraid of getting fouled and going to the line. Now it looks like he almost welcomes it.

Best game of the season for dwight! He is consistently getting better this season imo. I think there was a lot of pressure on him in the beginning of the season but it seems he is playing a lot more comforatable out there.

I know right? I mean, who doesn't want to play with Kobe? He's KOBE! :p

/sarcasm in case you are too dense to realize the comment was made in jest.

It's not just Kobe, although that contract extension the Lakers gave him was insane. Pau could be traded at any moment. Nash is done. And the rest of the roster is falling apart with injuries. Look at what they had to resort to last night in order to just finish the game.

And it's not like things are going to improve anytime soon. The aforementioned Kobe contract will hinder their ability to sign a big name free agent. And there's no guarantee anyone will go there in 2015. LeBron will have either re-upped with Miami or gone somewhere else. Same with Carmelo and the Knicks. LaMarcus Aldridge is probably staying in Portland. Kevin Love could bolt for L.A., but who's to say he won't opt for some other destination(gee, where could that be?)?

Their only hope is to stink the rest of the season and hope that Adam Silver is as good at rigging the draft lottery as David Stern.

Dwight's performance was so good that I had to watch it twice. The TJones one was great also, thanks for that. I think Dwight's training with CD has really helped him. He surprisingly has a nice soft touch around the rim especially when comparing to how his FT's look. His timing is getting better, and credit goes out to the entire team for improving their game to benefit Howard. This team looks to be buying in to the big man more as the season progress.

I thoroughly enjoyed the exciting James Harden Jeremy Lin, run n' gun, fastest pace in the NBA basketball from last year. But, that only had this team on the brink of making the playoffs the entire year. Clearly, this years Rockets team is playing a different brand of basketball. Albeit, it's a slower pace, the team is winning and we're arguably a top 5 team in the NBA. The record speaks for itself.

If Howard can play up to his potential that we expected, the team has a chance to go deep into the playoffs. He'd provide the scoring punch down low and rim protection when the games come to a halt during the post season. The team has potential to excel playing half court or transition when the opportunity arise because of our talented wings.

Didn't you hear, Lakers are getting Lebron James and Camelo Anthony this offseason. I heard they are trading Steve Blake and a 2nd round pick for Blake Griffin before the trade deadline.

Dwight certainly looks a bit more fluid and smooth out there now.. lets just hope he can be consistent and do this in the flow of the offense every game..
I mean he was going up against Plumlee and Len. Who? exactly..

That was pure domination under the rim. He was just abusing the defenders. No chance.

Give the big man the ball. And I just find it weird they never tried doubling Dwight.

Loving both highlight packages. Dwight was by far the best player on the floor on both ends of the court. I watched the highlight reel twice too! Impressive. If he can be that kind of Dwight, the rest of the NBA should be very afraid indeed. That Dwight is worth 20 million a year easily.

    T. Jones highlights were great too. Nothing really special numbers wise this game with 19 points 9 rebounds and 3 blocks as that is practically what he has been averaging over the past 15-20 games, but some really nice plays in this one. Highlight dunk, another block and dunk, alley oop to Dwight, and the ballhandling was really on display. I hope he gets a little stronger this offseason and works on his jumpshot. It doesn't necessarily need to be 3 point range, just something consistent that he can rely on. I couldn't even imagine how scary this kid can be with a little more strength and a jumper. I'm loving the fact that a 19, 9 and 3 from Jones is just another ho hum performance from him at the moment as in it is no longer a surprise, but more towards the expectation. His highlights would have been a major topic a few months ago.

I think we can see here that Houston is indeed the best big man developer in the league. Landry, Patterson, Chuck Hayes, Morris...and now Greg Smith, Tjones and DH's development has been amazing. That's not even counting DMO, who is still inconsistent but is already miles away defensively from his rookie year.

With Dwight you can see here the reason why we're better off with him than with Omer Asik, even if Asik does cost only 8M a year. It's hard to find a two-way dominant superstar in the league, and he's worth more than a guy who's just pretty good at one side of the ball.
