Well when all seems bleak, you have to find something that you can enjoy to keep watching. Also, I'm pretty sure a lot of athletes do that in most sports even though they're losing.

If the Rockets decide to go the Nelly-ball route to start games, it sends a message that they're not really interested in defense. Everything that was said during training camp about improving on that end of the court was nothing but talk. For sure, the coaches seem to like going small when they're down and they need to make up a deficit really fast. If small ball creates a 30% shot of making up a big lead and 70% shot of getting blown out -- may be its the right strategy in that situation. But its a bad idea to start off a game that way.

No, I know. It's not anything against Clutch. He does a remarkable job. It's more about the general principle about celebrating immaterial stuff when the bigger picture is so dire. I understand wanting something to cheer about, but it almost seems like fool's gold sometimes.

Again, nothing at all against Clutch. Wasn't my intent at all if it seemed I was going after him. I just think this board in general has fallen a bit too in love with highlights, which is why so many people were high on T-Will before reality brought them down and so on and so forth.

The thing is-- the small ball lineups actually seemed better defensively the last couple of games. It's the normal ball line-ups that resulted in the defensive lapses as far as I can tell. The smaller ball lineups (with Squid or Parsons at the 4) seemed to bother the opponents with their quickness and energy.

Also, Parson isn't really that much smaller than Jordan Hill.

Jordan Hill and Luis Scola are an awful defensive front-court, so maybe the defense can't get much worse. Still, I think it sends the wrong message. Even if its painful, the Rockets need to figure out how to win games with their defense. I just think that if they go small for extended time to start games, it will be difficult for them to develop the proper defensive mindset.

Not sure it'll work...but they do say defense is contagious. Wouldn't hurt to see Parsons busting his butt to defend and see if it rubs off. His mindset may be what they need.

Parsons is listed as 220 and isn't an athletic beast, no way in hell he'll be able to hold down power 4's and centers on the low block.

No way you play parsons at the 4

He is too light and will get bullied around and his quickness is then completely neutralized on D. Better at the 3 where his height can bother shots and he can interrupt passing lanes

Bud gets good production for the money, but we should definitely trade Chase.

Parson is playing well, but it takes more than a few games to take away someone's starting role they earned over years.

I enjoyed the pick check just as much as the dunk, despite him embellishing the fall a bit.

    Apparently the two are friends.

They ate dinner together last night according to Twitter.

I'm guessing they know each other off the court, at least somewhat? Seemed odd that he starred him down.

Watching Chandler Parsons play is like the only good thing to come out of a Rockets loss. (so far)
