Damn, so they chased him and Landry, being shot in the leg, was able to get away from them? Makes you wonder if they wanted to finish the job or rob him. :(

Landry needs to pack his stuff and move somewhere else. I know that it is probably easy to get to and from work, but leeland st ain't no punk at night.

Heights, Midtown, Rice Military, and Montrose are all within short driving distance from TC. Landry should check those areas out. Just don't move near that federal funded neighborhood in the Midtown area, the natives don't look too happy when you drive through their area.

If he's being paranoid about crime, he should go ahead and cross Midtown and Montrose off the list as well.

So people with guns were chasing Landry and he ran off leaving the woman in the car? Is there more to the story here? Or did he just abandon her with the shooters?

Some parts of those areas are bad, but they're not near third ward.

This is why people should always be allowed to have guns with a license. The criminals are going to have guns no matter what the laws say. I hope we find these worthless people.

As a resident of Third Ward (which is not where this shooting happened, btw), I completely disagree. Street crime is attracted to areas with stores and other public amenities, which Midtown and especially Montrose has. Third Ward is mostly straight residential, apart from a couple of developed (and dangerous) streets like MLK, Dowling, etc. Montrose also has the misfortune of bustling prostituion and drug businesses and a concentration of easy targets (homeless people, drunk people coming from the bars, and people afraid of the police). Landry at least couldn't get shot at on an empty street there and have no one to turn to for help, but is probably more likely to be mugged or burgled.

Besides, southern Third Ward has some pretty nice parts (in terms of upkeep), especially in Riverside Terrace. Landry might do well to move into Third Ward.

People take Third Ward to seriously... What if this happened in The Woodlands or something? Thing is I am sure it was either a gang intitiation, or a hit and rob (Im pretty sure it was a decent car) Then a 6'9 240 guy gets out the car..

Yeah I meant to say that shooting area which is near 3rd ward. That general area southeast of downtown surrounding the TSU/UH campuses are rough IMO.

I am sincerely glad that Landry's ok, he's a great kid and a awesome player.

On a side note: Mutumbo is the best.

Man I can't imagine how scared he was having to go door to door looking for help with a bullet in his leg. I hope he's not suffering mentally in any way from the trauma.
