Just so I understand you, you think that if Santa just said "Sorry about the misunderstanding.", walked away, and ignored DeeJay after that point, that the likelihood of violence would not have been significantly altered? In other words, the punch still would probably have happened? I don't agree with that at all. Maybe this is the source of the disagreement between me and the majority of the other posters in this thread.
YES because he already explained that he misunderstood something and wasn't being prejudiced. Then he basically said sorry by walking away. He showed humility and got embarassed. Was DeeJay satisfied with that act? No DeeJay still won't stop, continued being hostile, and started threatening him with violence.

Spoiler She shouldn't have antagonized a drunk douche, and it was avoidable, but is she responsible for escalating it to a punch? Are there no varying degrees of responsibility for this physical altercation?
Naw, you've been cool all the way through. Well, to be honest, I've only seen a handful of pages of this thread. Still, I couldn't get into a debate that heated for that long and not end up losing my cool. Props, durvasa. You are one in control cat. It's safe to say you would've handled the situation on the bus better than Beetlejuice and EpicBeardGuy or whatever they go by.
I tried to stay cool, but do yourself a favor and stick to the first handful of pages in the thread. Much more entertaining.
I guess you missed the part where, according to him, I hypothetically caused the death of Redawg's child and was ok with it.
Whatever the case, my work is done here. I can't bring myself to say that EBM has fault for getting hit especially after he walked away, talking smack or not. That's like saying a provocatively dressed lady is at fault for getting raped, even though she is walking away from trouble....and at that, I'm out.
I don't know what was better...? seeing the fight play out or watching Amber Lamps in the corner complete with headphones, and indifferance ...
Oh, you wouldn't be OK with it. I assume you are a decent human being. But, hypothetically, if I understand your perspective, you wouldn't feel obligated to apologize (for riling up the other guy) because you are blameless. After all, why apologize for your actions if your actions are not in any way responsible for the crime? That's cool. I see things one way (I would feel obligated to apologize and I would feel partly to blame), you and most everyone else apparently see things another way. As I am in the minority, I must be the one who doesn't get it. One day, maybe I'll learn.
