The reason I keep talking about what the old guy should have done is because so many people in this thread are insisting he was reasonable in all his actions. If everyone in this thread was saying the black guy was totally innocent, then he'd be the guy I'm talking about. Both of them were acting like idiots. Both of them should have shut their trap when it became clear where it was heading. It would only have taken one of them to end it, but neither was willing to be that guy.
Old guy must have been a war vet or something, dude knew how to fight while the black guy was all talk and no walk. Black guy probably didn't expect the old guy to be that good of a fighter.
lolwut? I think everyone agrees it should not have gotten out of hand verbally first. Who's fault that is somewhat debatable. What most here are saying, I think, is that after epicbeardguy went up front and the black guy got up and twice went up front to confront him, then punched the guy, he got what anyone should potentially expect in that situation.... a beat down. No one is saying "I'm glad they fought, no one else could get hurt" or "White dude was smart for not worrying about getting himself or anyone else hurt"... we're just saying that dude should have let it go, he didn't, went too far, started the physical confrontation (obviously with the wrong guy, some reasons clear, some weren't) and got beat down because of that. Had he shut up when the man walked off (wasn't that victory enough?), I suspect Epic dude would have too (he was, after all, willing to move).
Clearly. I for one admit I don't have the mental capacity to understand your brilliance. But I think if you spent another paragraph or two or twenty elaborating on your theories it would give us a better idea of the point you are trying to make. And who you are as a person, so we can relate. Let's talk it out.
The crazy, incoherent things I said drew a negative response from Clutch City Returns, similar to what happened in the video (how much for a spit shine). Now, I can either engage in the confrontation, or I can say whatever needs to be said in order to avoid a debacle. I chose the later (which is what the old guy should have done). The old guy is getting made out to be some kind of hero in this thread. This should come with age. What's sad is some of the people supporting the old man are well over 30. This is something you should have learned by the time you become an adult.
LIRL!! you've never heard of memegenerator or unmotivational? photoshop and a snipping tool... it takes about 4 minutes. welcome to the internet dude.
And standing up to bullies is something you learn as a child. Whether you like it or not, violence solves everything.
Weasley, Don't be such a nerd. You can't compare two senior citizens on public transportation (in Oakland, a breathing ghetto) to people discussing things on a message board. That's what I meant when I told durvasa he isn't a real world person. You can sit here and talk about "moral repercussions" and "being the bigger man" and the other **** that's been going on for 20 pages, but it's all irrelevant in this situation. The verbal conflict wasn't a big deal, but when Jermaine Dupri walked up to the front of the bus and threw the first slap/punch, it's on. No holds barred, and the old man isn't liable for what happens then because people will defend themselves in different ways. This isn't utopia. /end thread.
