True, true. But Wemby and Scoot seem extra extra talented! Regardless, whoever we get, I'll be happy with
Are we really sure about that?? Jabari and Jalen were consensus #1 and #2 picks in nearly every mock draft leading up to the draft. The fact is the Rockets struck gold when they ended up where they did in the draft given the odds. Would you say the Rockets fanbase is “having fun” right now? I would say rooting for young talented guys is more frustrating than anything and requires a TON of patience, and realism.
While not "fun" per se, I'm definitely enjoying these last two seasons more than that first post-Harden season with the WOW Rockets and the Cousins experiment. And if the team next year shows some major improvements, then I'll definitely be having fun
Happy Birthday to Victor Wembanyama who turns 19 today. He now enters the "he's only 19" stage of his career.
either San Antonio is gonna get someone to revive their franchise, or LaMelo is finally gonna get some real help meanwhile, with the 3rd pick, the Houston Rockets select…
Hate to be the wet blanket here but man..... that frame of his scares me like I was scared of Chet. Unless he matures physically dramatically in the next 8 months, I don't think this is a player who will help us out much at all in his first two or three seasons. Don't get me wrong... this kid looks incredible, but if I'm Stone and I land with the #1 pick, I build around him pieces that assume that he'll be more of a long term prospect than a ready to plug and play young star.
Uhmmm almost 60% chance with worst record to get pick 4 or 5. Should consider yourself lucky to get the 3rd
should we all chip up and support these cheap cheaters and get them at least the replica nba rings? @J.R. @Ankara1923
If you notice Wembys build he's been putting on a good deal of muscle compared to some earlier pics of him. Chet is not built like that he's more skin and bones guy when you see the few pics/clips of him without his shirt (even though they tend to be younger images). Wemby is put together better with way more muscle mass and its kind of wild considering he's also 4 inches taller than Chet. Houston is dead last in team offense AND defense. Victor Wembanyama would immediately correct that on day one. He's a 3 level scorer with an 8 foot wing span who would reinvent this defense single handedly and be hyper efficient on offense even as a 3rd option.
Yeah I mean despite my concerns about that (which are the concerns with nearly every human over 6’8”) it’s a no brainer to take the chance. Unless Scoot has this amazing leap forward yeah he’s the #1 pick easily today. Don’t get me wrong on that.
I was a big Chet guy for the reasons listed above. Defense and ability to play anywhere on offense. Victor is the next evolution of Chet, so I’m definitely on board. I think Alp and Wemby is a perfect pairing in the front court. Same concerns are in play for Wemby as they were for Chet, but either way I would draft him. I would have taken Chet number 1 too.
