The problem with most of those hydrocodone pills is that they are mixed with enough ibuprofen to make you sick if you exceed the recommended dosage. IMO most of the opiate effect is placebo. The only hydrocodone preparation worth a damn that I know of is tussionex, which is a vaguely banana flavored syrup with some sort of antihistamine - sort of a turbo - charged purple drink syrup. Save yourself some trouble and find some blue Roxycodones - preferably labeled ALG 265.
