Ok, let's change this a little. Who here has had unprotected sex? This doesn't necessarily mean anonomys or unsafe, just unprotected. How many of you have had sex with your wife or girlfriend, for example, without any protection for either of you? Why did you do it? You could've waited, right? Why take the risk? ------------------ And then, depression set in...

Jeff al ya gotta do is watch eMpTyV it's not men forcing women to be 'sexy' anymore. . . women are doing for themselves I think this is not the issue . . this is apples and oranges . .. the attachment of sexual equality to this issue is a bit . . .tenuous Viagra and THE PILL have nothing in common I mean hell . . . i think pap smears are cover men don't get those. . . . If you want to discuss Sexual Equality then let's do this in another thead because here it seems a stretch to me. Rocket River ------------------

You see a condom protects both the man and the woman from such things as HIV, the treatment of which would cost much more than said condom. Jeff, Again, there are plenty of women whose insurance covers the pill. I think the Representative should continue her cause, though, for the Blue Crosses in the land. The better analogy, though, would probably be if Viagra is covered, Glide should be as well. Just to throw a ringer in the mix... It's really not the insurance companies -- it's the employer. Most insurance companies work it like this -- Employers are given certain choices when picking the plans for their employees, along with the costs. One of the options is whether they will cover contraception. (Others are fertility treatment, prophylactic MRI's, etc.) Most employers opt for 'No' to keep the costs down. Viagra probably doesn't yet have it's own 'option.' Jeff -- Does Medicaid cover the Pill? I don't think it does. (For the majority of the people on Medicare, it's not an issue. Plus, Medicare doesn't have a real prescription drug plan for any medications.) ------------------ Stay Cool...
ohh yeah, i have never heard of a std yes, i made an error in my statement, condoms aren't not supposed to be intended to be used as a contraceptive. but nevertheless, the pill is not solely a contraceptive. It is used for other medical reasons to improve the health of women and is prescribed quite regularly for that. If there is a medical need for the pill OR viagra, i dont see why insurance should not cover it. ------------------ snap crackle pop
