Clearly lampe's ceiling is a lot higher than Chuck's. However, we can't afford to give Lampe playing time right now if we still hope to make the playoffs.
i agree there are still 22 games. how the next 10 go will dictate our playoff chances. After that the last dozen games can ben given to the kids. let Tmac rest.
Can the Clutchfans BBS posters break The Van Gundy Code? Find out this summer at a press conference near you!
This thread sums up the total lack of understanding some of the posters on this BBS have for JVG. He knows how to manipulate his players more then you guys give him credit for. Its kind of funny because he will make comments like this, posters will roast him in threads like this, and then low and behold the players come out and have a huge game but nobody ever gives him praise for his work only the nay sayers....lol
At 275 lbs, I don't believe he is quick enough to be a SF anymore. I've only watched Lampe play in a few games, but from what I have seen, he did not appear to be any form of shrinking violet when it comes to contact. IMO, JVG picked him up as a power PF with range and reserve center to eventually replace Mount Mutombo. Again, just as a rank amateur observer, it appears to me that JVG prefers to keep rookies on the practice floor until he has absolute confidence in them -- unless he has a special need caused by injuries (see Head).
IF we end up going south, it is entirely likely that Lampe gets some PT. Until then, welcome to the bench, rook.
Indeed. If we can not make the playoffs then play him, hell start him. Until that time play him as needed. 4 games back... can you feel it?
No kidding, I totally agree with. JVG is whipped all the time around here but never given the credit when things go well. As for the quote, get real, JVG is not bashing Hayes at all.
Yeah, it's not like Hayes gets wide open layups, and makes them, runs the floor, or always finds a way to get to the loose ball, or rebounds well or anything. c'mon.
