    Well, yeah that is akward. Honestly, It didn't even sink in; my mind somehow converted it to "pull out of Iraq."

    1. Don't put words in my mouth
    2. It was good enough for the Brits in WWII

    BTW, when has it ever been a bad thing to unify and toughen up in the face of any enemy anywhere, anytime?

    So it's no surprise about the lie, right?

    I think it is easier to list things that Bush was right about than things he lied about or was just flat wrong about. But let me just pop off a couple just for fun:

    Reform and Improve the nation's publicly funded schools --> Lied/Wrong
    underfunded program

    Give back the government surpluses --> Lied/Wrong
    Now running largest deficeits in history...what surpluses?

    Revamp Social Security --> Lied/Wrong
    Thankfully, never even got off the ground

    Revamp Medicare --> Lied/Wrong
    Even conservatives are saying it'll cost waaaayyyy more than we were told

    Tax credits for poor to buy insurance and lower cost insurance for small businesses --> Lied/Wrong
    Premiums continue to rise.

    Uniter not divider --> Lied/Wrong
    Wow. Just wow.

    We don't do "nation building" --> Lied/Wrong
    we SHOUDN'T be nation building now

    Anybody associated with that leak is outta here --> Lied/Wrong
    Rove ain't going nowhere

    Says we don't have enough data on global warming --> Lied/Wrong
    Why is he removing language about global warming from official docs?

    Said domestic issues should be decided at state level --> Lied/Wrong
    Pushing constituional ammendments to remove states rights re: gay marriage

    We will win the "war on terror" --> Lied/Wrong
    He admitted Iraq and 9/11 are not connected but he continues to spew this.

    Must reduce our dependancy on foreign oil w/ renawable energy -- Lied/Wrong
    The recent energy bill didn't come close to fixing dependany issues.

    Must preserve jobs for Americans --> Lied/Wrong
    Pushed legistlation to give incentives for corporate outsourcing.

    We will find and punish Bin Laden --> Lied/Wrong
    When we had the chance, we let the Afghans run after him.

    And all our favorite...say it together...Sadaam's WMD --> Lied/Wrong

    Being gracious, the only positive thing I can say (and that's a stretch) is the economy did sorta turn around but this ain't the 90's. Although opponents from either party are always quick to point out the presidential policy has little to do with economic cycles. So who knows if the tax credits worked in the short term, they definately won't work out in the long term.

    :D

    Ahh yes, it's like a fine French wine. You must savor each and every lie to maximize the body and aroma. ahhhhhhh This particular lie seems to get better with age too.

    Look, You can't fix something wrong unless you acknowledge it. So for anybody to suggest a given topic is off limits doesn't actually want to know the answer to the questions being asked. If our enemies derrive inspiration by our dialogue, well Dubya should have thought about that before we engaged in the Iraq war. But since he never planned for life after "Mission Accomplished", he never considered the ramifications of a protracted engagement would have in the media beyond his typical blatent mind-control attempts. That's his fault. Citizens questioning Presidents is about as certain as death itself.

    I think this is just Dubya getting desperate and people are starting to see through it now. I don't take it too seriously. It's just more of the same.

    Oh, and that's another one:

    "Mission Accomplished" --> LIE/WRONG ;)

    It's not "awkward," giddyup. "Awkward" implies it was a mistake to state it that way. It wasn't. The Bush White House does exactly what basso and the Trader Jorge brothers do on a regular basis and they know exactly what they're doing -- they plainly suggest that if you don't agree with Bush (even when he's obviously screwing up) -- you're on the side of the terrorists. That if you don't agree with Bush's failed policies you are not only soft on terror, but want the terrorists to win. It's not awkward. It's a damned lie of the worst possible kind. It is pure politics in an effort to demonize the opposition which is all this White House and all basso and his sort care about at all. I can believe that your anti-free speech/anti-protest arguments are misguided and "awkward" but I don't believe that about these other guys at all. They know exactly what they're doing and it is disgusting.

    Ahh nothing like the Batman drunk post. Those are my favorites!

    You're clearly exaggerating for effect in the post, Bats. We can all see that.

    Yep, par for the course. I'm wrong about the war because I'm "drunk." You guys can't argue to save your lives, so you demonize the opposition. You, your brother, basso and your failed war president. Forgive me for exaggerating if I am. I think it's understandable. I've been asking you guys for over a year to stop calling us terrorist lovers with no basis for it whatsoever -- not even a made up one -- and you just keep doing it. Meantime you post about kicking Arab ass and cry like a baby when people call you a racist. You're the lowest type of hypocrite and everybody on the board sees it. So, cool. Insult my character in an off topic way and run away as fast as you can when asked to participate in an actual debate. Same as it ever was.

    I'm wrestling with this charge of my ilk demonizing the anti-war crowd while the vilest and meanest of insults and chracterizations are regularly posted here of our president. Comment?

    Just because the pendulum swings, we don't have to follow it. Where will the public opinion be in a month or two? What happens if we catch Zarqawi (SP?) or bin Laden?

    It's not about our temporary feelings about the matter. The grumbling from your camp about the run-up to the war has been well-publicized from the get-go; why were the approval ratings not in the low 30's then instead of just now?

    And we can plainly see Dubya does it too. Which is worse?

    EXACTLY EXACTLY EXACTLY.

    Now you know how us liberals feel. We never followed it to begin with and we held to our convinctions by not supporting W's agenda. We're all in the "I told you so, regretfully" camp.

    Ahhh, we are all just waiting and watching as the pendulum comes back to us...and make no mistake...it is. But enjoy yourself because (hopefully) in another year, your side of the clock tower will be very lonely. :p

    I think most of the charges made against Bush have panned out to be accurate. The main one being that he lied. Evidence has shown that to be accurate. Evidence that he didn't want honest discussion amongst his advisors. That has panned out to be accurate.

    But even through all of that we didn't accuse Bush of wanting America to fail, or loving Saddam, hoping that Americans die. We may have said his tactics won't work, and he's a fool for using them. Sure we did, but we didn't accuse him no wanting America to win the war on terror. We didn't mind him speaking his mind, and in fact we wished he would share more information and ideas, not keep his mouth shut.

    You don't get it.

    This post wins another nonsubstantitive award. That is two awards given out by the panel in one day. This enormously popular award is really becoming a hit.

    hey texxx

    Do you agree with your president that people that don't agree with his war policy don't want to win the war on terror?
