actually, payoso, i havent been following the draft for 25 years, im not even 25 eyars old, LOL.

Here's a guy I thought would make it : Ace Custis. Man, i thought he was athletic. But then i remembered VT's tourney game against kentucky, and antoine walker dominated him.

Alot of the players on that kentucky team had game, but not many have starred, if i am not mistaken. I even consider walker a slight disappointment.

Todd Day was the 8th overall pick in the '92 draft to the Bucks.

What a trip down nostalgia lane to read these posts. Here's a few that I think got left off: Sidney Wicks, Howard Porter, Jim McDaniels, Melvin Turpin (picked just before Barkley), Pervis Ellison, David Thompson, Ernie DiGregorio, and Dwight Davis (UH--picked #4 by Cleveland).

A bit early to give up on Nash -- he ended the season very well for Dallas. And the same goes for whoever thought Antawn Jamison didn't live up to their expectations (he was indeed a 20-10 player in the two months before he got injured).

Another BTW comment -- Billy Owens was a top 5 pick, and no one's sorrier to have bet on him than Don Nelson (who traded Mitch Richmond for him, in what he admits was his biggest mistake as a GM).

I'm not a big watcher of college hoops, so there's only a few players who ever caught my eye enough to think about their pro prospects. The ones who did turn out well in the NBA include Mashburn, Garnett, and McDyess. I also guessed that Olowokandi would be a #1 overall pick, though I had no idea how well his career would turn out (it's still too early to tell).

Childress got me too, though, and so did Ed O'Bannon that same year (more comments on this under Will's "It" thread). And Jason Sasser a year or two later.
