    HP,

 No need to get snippy. I just strongly disagree with your assessment of Kenny's defense. Kenny moves his feet well in one-on-one play, but good defense is played as a team, and it is in that area that Kenny's skills suffer.

For example, the old Boston teams always seemed to play good defense, but not too many of them would have been confused for good one-on-one defenders. They were always tough, though, because they played as a team.

Kenny does not play team ball on either end of the floor. When a guard drives the lane, Kenny always seems to react late, and he can't close down the gaping hole to the hoop. When he does get to the ball in time, he tends to swipe at the ball like a point guard instead of challenging the shot. That's not what I want from a 4.

I think you know Kenny is undersized, unless you are considering him as an exclusive 3. I would argue the point about Kenny not being a 3 but this board has had enough discussion on that point. Unlike Battier, who is a 2/3, Kenny is a 3/4 without an outside shot.

I've seen our zone and it needs work, just like our man D. The point is that we should be able to employ a zone with the type of length we can throw out there. I didn't catch the first half of the Clips game so I can't comment. The zone was effective in the second halves of the Wizards and Clips game, and I hope it is a sign of things to come. Oh, and have you ever heard Rudy or Carroll do anything but praise players.

Guys like me. I didn't realize you knew me. Kenny had a decent game against the Clips when others were struggling. I don't believe KT receiving minutes is in the best interest of team in the long run. He is a liability to the offensive flow, and I disagree with your analysis of him as an overall defender. By the way, there are other reasons to give someone minutes and praise...particularly if you are showcasing trade bait.

Soap operas? Not following you on that one. Rudy may not see him as a cancer, but he is not a happy camper, and he is disruptive to the offensive flow. (Another point which as been discussed at length on this board.)

I guess it all depends on the lenses through which you see the world. I am not a KT fan. I think that is obvious. That hardly makes my points on KT invalid. Taylor and/or Cato could be used to body up a player with help defense if Griffin is overmatched.

    Rocket Addict,

That's some long-winded way of denying that Kenny is getting minutes for a reason, merely to say at the end that Rudy must be showcasing him for a trade. Wow, you got me there, with that unrefutable logic.

We have a lot more things on our minds than showcasing Kenny. Kenny is getting minutes for a reason. It is you who can't even fathom a reason that involves his basketball abilities.

    no soup for you

    NIKEstrad,

We are in agreement that Griffin is not taking advantage of his mismatches against SFs. I am not arguing that Kenny has a longterm spot playing PF though. He can fill a role as a SF, if he plays that role on both sides of the court. I think that is why he has been benched so he can play with Maurice.
