Man, you guys got lucky. Me and Shan had an off night. We'll get you next time. It was actually kinda fun knowing I had no chance , had a few tipped (knocking away a rebound) balls that I had no business getting a hand on. Too bad I'm too old for a growth spurt, but hopefully there will be an opposite effect in the other direction so I can at least move around better. haha My shot was on tonight during practice, hit a few in the games...
I don't know if anyone is planning on playing this weekend or not, but I wouldn't be able to make it Saturday. Sunday I think I could.
Not looking likely, at least not for me. On an unrelated note, I am getting pretty fed up with the lack of traction on that court. It makes the game about half as fun for me. Not to mention the kids (and for the most part, their parents) who have no sense of respect when we're trying to play a game. If it were up to me, we'd find a new location.
If its possible to find an outdoor court with good surface, great backboards, non-double rims, and limited usage by the public... go for it.
The thing is, I would rate those things in this order of importance... 1) good surface 2) non-double rims 3) limited usage by the public 4) great backboards 1 & 3 on that list seem to be getting increasingly worse at the current court, if you count little kids running around as "usage by the public", which I do. I'd much rather go somewhere where I don't have to think twice about driving to the basket because I'm not sure if my feet are going to make it there with me. I'd sacrifice the other factors a good surface 9 times out of 10 because, for me personally, it's a lot easier to adjust to the goal (rim/backboard) than the court...plus bad backboards and rims don't increase your chance for injury like a slippery court does. Let's just make our own. If we build it, they will come.
oh yeah, i might be at the astros game.. why not just play at Root Memorial? good court, good glass, good rims. lack of a roof...
I'm out for tomorrow. DNP - Cousin's birthday I'm turning into Dave, I think I may have more cousin's than he does.
