hahaa - talk about a battle of the titans! I can't make it this week, as I have limited range of motion in my right wrist after using it to brace a fall after getting undercut a few weeks ago. But I would definitely want to play if we met up in an indoor court.
Got your message Omega, that would probably work for most of us, if it's free. Dunno if anyone goes there on a regular basis or not. Thoughts everyone?
yeah... it's been a couple of years since we've played head to head. i'm old now and pretty much limited to blocking a shot or two now. sigh. maybe next weekend bro. cool. if folks don't check out the board here, then we could easily meet up there at the same time that y'all usually do and make the trek over there.
good seeing you folks from the board again. sorry to cut out early, but the slipping and sliding was getting unbearable (excuses, excuses) and had a meeting with a friend shortly thereafter. fun nevertheless. thx, d.
Good to see you again, sorry you kept slipping out there (we are working on getting another spot) I think we should certainly try the Y idea next week just to see how it pans out.
likewise. didn't know that fb could should like that. lol. wtf? i'll ask around in the coming days about alt courts. no use in me whining about it, if i can't find one myself.
Pretty much everyone is whining about it. I can deal with the slippery surface because I like the goals, but the concrete really pounds my back after a while and I'm usually sore on Monday. You get used to it after a while but then again it really limits any sudden movements, which is pretty important in basketball.
So awesome meeting Omega and weslinder today. I was like, WHY aren't they dumping it down to Aaron every single time? I'm up to 38. 30,000 more people to meet, give or take a few.
Much fun. I was wondering why Omega left early... Hopefully we can get a less slipery spot! Nice meeting you folks.
There's a park in the Heights, near Memorial Park. I drove past it last night and it was packed, but there may be a time on the weekend when it's not so busy. It looked like they were playing half court, at least. I'll try to get out there and school some chumps later in the week to get a feel for the court's characteristics.
I'm trying to envision which park you're talking about, since I do spend quite a bit of time in that area. We should just play outside TC.
Here it is...Spotts Park. If nothing else, it's very central. Fair for everyone. I would be fine with that if we didn't have to worry about crowds and parking. Plus they do a lot of maintenance on those goals...sometimes the rims are just gone, randomly.
I think on the weekend that place gets kind of crowded. Its worth a shot though. Any word on the YMCA thing?
