This has been suggested a few times now but I don't think anyone has yet to actually go check it out. Seems to me like if 6-10 not so college looking people went in there they might think something was up. Maybe we need an inside man.
I'm not sure you've been there in a while. The court seems to get more slippery by the day. That's really the only reason I don't want to play there.
what about that court at the school. half a mile east from where we play on san felipe. when i drive home, it seems to always have people playing there.
Are you talking about the park just about 4-5 blocks down san felipe just before you hit the loop? We've played there a couple times... that surface is terrible, cracked everywhere. The rims and backboards also suck.
yea its been a while for me... saturdays are pretty busy for me. i am going to check out this church by me, that i used to go to and see what it would take to use their gym. from what i remember its a pretty nice court, inside (so no worry about it being hot or raining, and we would be to ourselves. but it is a bit of a drive for most of yall and we might have to put in together to rent it out each weekend. so it may not be even worth it in the end since people would have to pay gas and then a small fee to use the court. i live around the corner from it so of course it would be extremely convenient for me... of course like all courts, it has its pro and cons im not sure of any other courts, especially in the middle of all of us.
I would be willing to drive and pay a small fee ($5 or less each) to "rent" an indoor court for a day.
i live in 288/beltway 8 willing to drive pretty much anywhere, just not to Jersey Village or Humble, now that would be a stretch
If we're talking $5 or less, then yeah. But I doubt we find a court that lets us rent it for that cheap...unless we have like 15 people again.
this was my worry as well. someone, most likely me since it is my idea, would have to pay the amount up front... and if only 5 people show, i am losing out. that is not counting the people that will forget to bring the money as well. so it is a gamble but i will still check it out next week.
I wouldnt mind throwing a few bones to play indoors. i mean, it would have to be for a few good hours.
I'm down to pay too if the courts are good. I'm in the Heights but I don't mind driving for a good pick-up game so I can swat Moes shots.
Haha, same here. I didn't know you were CCR, either. Next time! I live off of I-45. Almeda Genoa area. I'm always down to play, so if that means I have to pitch in some cash to do so, then I'm down (as long as it's not outrageous, of course). Either way, I'm down.
im down for paying any type of money to play in a good court inside, im on NW houston but let me know and ill drive and pay
So are we playing at the same place tomorrow or does someone have a suggestion of a better court we can try?
may be late for a last minute suggestion, but... ... why not play on the courts inside the y? i just called and talked to some dude named lamar there. he said that if you're not a member, you get three FREE visits a year. if you've been there three free times already, then it's ten bucks. sooooooo.... what do y'all think? the only negative i see is that we don't know how many other ymca members will be playing on the court. however, iirc they have a total of six goals on the inside. positives -no slipping and busting our arses on the outside courts -maybe ccr will be able to throw one or two down -maybe yaowink will make a guest appearance to face omegatumbo
