When he was here, I wasn't his biggest fan b/c I thought his defense was overhyped and he was mentally fragile, but in hindsight he was an essential part of team and I can appreciate him a lot today. It's really good to see him in a good place in his life now.
Mad Max was and still is the man. His "never back down from anyone" personality represented the championship teams perfectly. Sure, Dream was the man, but Maxwell did not ride anyone's coat tails, as he was an integral part of those teams. As long as he hasn't killed or raped anybody, he gets pardoned in my eyes. None of us are perfect after all...
I hated this guy for 20 years for walking out on us in the first round in 1995. However, when I saw the new Clutch City documentary, it talked about this, and Vernon said he greatly regrets that decision now. And he seemed sincere. It's entirely possible he's changed, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt here. It's also good to know he still likes this city.

That was actually a very humble response to that guy, all things considered. Great respect for Dream. Go Max!
I see Vietnamese people in the background? They are the largest Asian ethnic group in the Big Easy....
Vernon Maxwell @VernonMaxwell11 "Scottie Pippen showed us how good he was without MJ when he came to play for Houston."
Oh damn!!! Mad Max fan 4life. True Houstonian right there. He even shares out hatred of Scottie Quitten.
I drove by that last weekend on Wilcrest as a detour cause I was trying to avoid the night market traffic piling up around Belliaire & Boone. Said to myself I says "Oh damn another one I need to try!" Mad Max was in Da Lief! #oldhood #b****pleaseImfromAlief
