I’m a Vernon Maxwell fan so what I’m about to say doesn’t change that. In fact he’s on my Mount Rushmore of favorite “non star” Rockets of all time, but let’s not forget this guy hit Carl Herrera in the head with a weight, fought a fan and got pissed that we traded for Clyde Drexler and QUIT on our beloved Rockets during our title defense. Among other things. So not only should he keep any negative opinions to himself, but I’m sure he of all people understands that things happen behind closed doors that we have no idea about.
Vernon Maxwell is a living legend in my eyes. The only stain on that for me was the fact that he quit on us. I think the fact that we won anyways allowed people to forgive easier, but I do wonder if he’d still be as beloved here had we not gone back to back. He was a huge loss.
Why you gotta bring up old ****? I don’t really need Mad Max to weigh in on internal franchise politics. I need Mad Max to have fun rooting for the team and ******** on the Jazz.
He regrets the way he handled the whole situation and has said as much. People make mistakes, he made one. He’s grown a lot as a person. So while what he did hurt, he deserves Rockets fans forgiveness. We don’t win the first title without him imo. He still bleeds Rockets red and he will always be legend. Love that he’s so engaged now.
Maxwell has come a long way from when he was a player. He recognizes the mistakes he made then. Dude crushes Twitter and is a Rocket fan, gotta love him.
Between him and JVG those two have adopted Houston as their forever home. Max doesn’t even live there!
