Going forward, the key is for Verizon and AT&T to feel heat from other competitors because prices will go up (or end up being higher than they would have) for consumers. Go Sprint! Go T-Mobile! Go G-phone! Go WiMax! Go whatever else that will compel the big two to compete on price. We cannot have a strong duopoly take control.
