There are no charges in pick-up basketball. It's just a no call. Frankly, sliding over to try to take a charge isn't only stupid, it's dangerous. You can end up undercutting someone and they can get really hurt. If the player beat you to the basket, let them score. Fouling them or getting under them isn't in the spirit of the game. Charges are for organized games with refs.
