The new boss will do what they are told unless they want to be arrested by delta force in the middle of the night.
Listening to them talk, they (Maduro's government) don't seem to see it as quite the black and white arrangement that you do, so you should probably keep those Black Hawks fueled. Sounds like you'll need to use them a bunch more if you plan on achieving that level of supervisory authority. Trump's "we're running the country" seems a whole lot more only aspirational now than it did yesterday when he uttered those words. In one of the videos I posted above, Marco Rubio in a Sunday morning interview HARD walks back the idea that we are running Venezuela. Through the dead eyes of a man defending something he doesn't want to be defending, Rubio describes an situation where we continue to wield pressure on the independent Venezuelian government through our blockade - a situation that sounds a whole lot like the situation that existed before we absconded with Maduro. Trump can probably get some pretty sweet concessions in negotiations with Maduro's government at this point, though. Presumably the fact that we've indicated we'll follow through with the violence improves the leverage significantly.
This dude right here spent years spamming the Ukraine thread bashing Biden for selling weapons to ukraine claiming we needed to focus on America. Now these morons suddenly want the military to arrest foreign leaders without congress. All a bunch of losers thinking theyre part of some big reality show. Germans thought the same thing
'We invite the US government to collaborate with us on an agenda....' Sure sounds like she will do what shes told.
Honestly the fis You're reading a whole lot into a single concillitory tweet designed to placate Trump. You should maybe read some of the other stuff she said or wrote yesterday or on Saturday which paint a picture of a much more nuanced and adversarial relationship and not a picture of someone planning to roll over and show her belly. Or don't, whatever. I get that you guys are feeling your oats at the moment and don't want to come back down to earth.
I'm honestly not sure if you are being intentionally obtuse or not. Based on everything else she's said she's going to give Trump some nice words, and a few concessions to placate his ego, mostly about oil, but she certaintly isn't giving up her country's autonomy. She's going to give up exactly the absolute minimum she thinks she can give up, there's going to be constant pushback, and there's never going to be free and fair elections without a whole lot more people getting killed. The dynamic is most akin to Tony Soprano demanding a business give up protection money. The business is going to pay, and when Tony comes around for cash they're going to kiss his ass, but the extorted are by no means signing up to become a junior member of the Soprano family They aren't going to go out of their way to assist Tony, and they aren't implimenting the Soprano management style or feeling any loyalty, and the moment they see a way out of the protection racket they're going to jump at it. Kissing Trump's ass profusely costs nothing but Rodriguez's dignity and buys the government time. Everything she is saying when she isnt talking directly to Trump tells a very different story about what's going on in her head. They can't tie up a significant fraction of the USN on blocade Venezuela duty forever, unless they want to ignore a bunch of other obligations. Once the gun is no longer pointed directly at Venezuela's head, the dynamic changes.
