Try the Imperial Palace. It's on the strip, crappy, and usually pretty cheap. It's almost impossible to get a decent hotel in Vegas for under $70 a night unless you're going through a dead season.

South Point is a decent place (I live 1/4 mile from there) but it's a $15-20 cab ride to the strip each way.

this looks like a great deal, but do i need to be a costco member?

also, imperial palace is fine for a guys night out, but i dont think the ladies would appreciate it. i hear their rooms smell of cigarettes badly, even the non smoking.

i'm sorry, but you have not found 2.50 backjack in excalibur. try taking your girl to laughlin and telling her that it's senior citizen weekend in las vegas.

ps, i'd bet $10 that if you book circus circus through that deal, you'll end up in the manor rooms that'd make the IP look like the venetian, no joke.

Ive been to Vegas twice this year. Once in May and again in July and now Im going in December to make a third trip for 06.
I know the city pretty well, and although a $2.50 game is not often found, I guarantee you that it does exist. Although I do like to play cards in the wee hours of the morning when all the drunk idiots who hit soft 19 have long been to sleep. But I have seen it stick around through out the early afternoon.

Believe me I get tips from my boss who goes every year for his fantasy baseball draft and his crew has some of the tightest wallets known to man.
I mean who goes to vegas to share rooms and survive on hot dogs in between $2.50 hands for Gods sake!?!? My boss does.
These guys almost had a manic depression when the San Remo was bought out by Hooters.
Now they treat Imperial Palace like its the White House.

Im not staying at Circus Circus, but Im trying to convince the girls to stay at Red Rock. Im having a difficult time convincing them because its off the strip. So we may end up at MGM or NYNY.

There's no way $2.50 black jack will be avaible on the strip during New Year's. If you find a table like that, I will bow down to your scavenger skills.

Just throwing it out there, but have you checked the Stratosphere? The last time I went I got the room for $40 a night. I needed the bargain badly as I was stuck in Vegas on my own for an EXTRA FIVE DAYS because Hurricane WhateverItWas shut down Miami International. The rest of my friends there weren't from Florida. And I already went over budget by the time I was SUPPOSED to leave. On top of that I had enough random crazy (not always in the good way) experiences that I never thought were possible, like something out of Harold & Kumar. I was paranoid that more insane things would happen, I couldn't wait to leave!

*Ahem* That was quite a tangent. So yeah, maybe the Stratosphere might be reasonable...
