So what stories and impressions did you get from this trip?
I think this was forgotten since your brief leave of absence here.

its kinda funny this was bumped cause I'm planning my Vegas trip in middle of August (17th-19th).

Anybody have anything good to say about Excalibur? Going to stay there, $70/night, middle of the strip, with strip view, think I can't go wrong with that.

Its going to be my first trip there since I turned 21 in 03, we're going cause my cousin is turning 21 :)

Just wanting to know how his trip went. He did 'disappear' from the hangout for awhile.

dude, the excalibur is a piece of crap.
upgrade for $100/night you can go to either MGM Grand or Treasure Island.

if you want to go el-cheapo, you can go to Luxor, which is much less ghetto than Excalibur. Same price too.

Sorry man, the excalibur is in a good location but it's pretty rundown. I'd spend the extra $20 or so a night and stay at the Monte Carlo, NYNY, or MGM. All of which are right across the street from the excalibur, and far less ghetto.

Luxor it is, not bad, $70/night also. Maybe entice to spend the extra dollar for the other places listed.

Excalibur is crappy and for little kids. I recommend TI. Lots of people our age there, reasonably priced, and large rooms with nice views of the strip.

    tinman,

Loved the Nugget. Will be the place I stay most times I return to Vegas. Loved the pool, the dealers and being able to gamble affordably. They have a $5 shuttle to the Strip which we didn't need because my parents drove there from Phoenix and hauled us around. The one big thing I'd change is the sports book. I didn't like how there wasn't a good place to see the lines from where the good seats were. Oh well. BTW, does Tillman Fertitta own part of the Texans? You couldn't bet on them at the Nugget.

I'm not even that big a fan of the strip anymore. We made it down there twice and I would've been just as happy downtown for what I like to do.

    Thanks for asking.

3 at the moment, Yoyo might meet us there, I'm paying for our room though, so its not like I'm splitting the cost of the rooms with my cousins, $100/night after taxes is probably my limit

I know that at the Palms (Maloofs) you can't bet on the Kings or the NBA, so it could be the same situation.
