i saw it too and they said he broke the news of the atlanta/milwuakee/ny trade. he did state that he did not expect the Rox to move Francis before the deadline. MoT for Croshere would be horrendous.
Again, why does anyone ever listen to Vecsey? He's a joke. Mo can score fine against starters. Croshere's outside shooting (benefit) does not outweigh the drawbacks of this trade.
Some good stuff in there. Imo, MoT is a legit 6'10" pf, while Croshere is a 6'8"(maaaaybe 9") tweener. Croshere brings the range, yeah, but he doesn't have the post-up versatility nor the midrange game of Mo. Croshere is a lil better at taking it to the hole and hustles a lot more than Mo(esp for rebounds) - this season probly is his upside. Give him more minutes and his numbers will increase some big whoop. I don't think the injury is a huge concern anymore. - I think Taylor can score on just about anyone. - I think chemistry is overrated. As long as we aren't getting a cancer back, who cares. Friggin moochie was supposedly great for chemistry. - I think the finals Croshere was for real. I wouldn't mind Croshere as a backup pf/sf, but the dude's contract is as bad as MoT's and Mo is a better player imo. If we had a legit starting pf then I think Cro would be an ideal rotation guy to have coming off the bench.
Anybody who wants Taylor to rebound more should get him stoned and paint the basketball like a Twinkie.
Vecsey is a moron. Why would we trade MoT's lousy contract for Croshere's lousy contract when he doesn't even have game?
Honestly, is the new fad among sports 'insiders' to suggest deals in which the Rockets absolutely get screwed? Why would we ever trade our 3rd best player for a guy who can't even get off the bench in Indiana? Because Vescey "hears" Van Gundy wants a shooter? What a joke.
I saw the interview as well with Spiro and Vecsey...Vescey said he talked to JVG some time ago and I believe JVG told him about how they get along. The media is expanding this Francis-JVG thing...its really not a big deal. JVG and Francis get along well
Just out of curiousity...Francis, Yao, Mobley and Jim Jackson. 3rd best player means better than 2 of the 4 mentioned Rockets. I guess I'm just not nearly as impressed by Taylor as you are. I like what he's doing, but he's doing it against 2nd units with a total green light because he is usually teamed with Mark Jackson and Kelvin Cato.
If MoT is traded, and he won't be, but if he were -- Seattle in a deal including Lewis would make sense for both teams.
It's not worth the effort to swap MoT for Croshere. Mo is much better player and getting even more offensive treat than Coshere!!Straight up, Baby!!
how does anyone here actually support getting croshere...the guy just flat out sucks come on guys...give it up
Taylor and Croshere - I think it comes down to this.... Taylor can score in the low block and Croshere can't. I cant underscore that enough. Taylor's low post game is essential to this team. This team starts it's offense in the low block and when Yao is out of the game we need SOMEONE to be able to draw a double team or be a low post threat. Taylor does that for us. With no low post threat this team looks like a chicken with its head cut off. Everyone running around and dribbling with absolutely no ball movement at all. If we want to imroved our outside shooting, I am all for that. But perhaps we should look at the 1-2-3 spots FIRST in that regard. Ray Allen anyone? Moving Taylor for Croshere makes no sense in my opinion based on our needs. The only way I move Taylor is if we can also move Cato to get a guy that can score in the low post. Rasheed Wallace anyone?
croshere was a lil good in his first or second year, but i wouldn't trade MOT for crosh then back in his prime times
