This is where the money Les makes on Yao comes into play. Yao's contract is whatever it is, but Les makes more from having Yao on the team. This money should be allocated to getting good players. It's basically profit and loss. If Les is getting Yao revenues, he should be able to expand his player payroll. If he isn't, then he's not committed to winning.

I think Les has shown that he is more than committed to winning. He is constantly giving CD the freedom to sign or trade for good players (the moves dont always work but atleast we have made them). Additionally its not like we are under the salary cap and Les is saving a ton of money. No owner besides maybe Cuban is going to want to pay luxury tax. I think its unfair to say that Les is not committed to winning is he decides he does not want to go over the salary cap.

Besides Vlad might be better than Mo/Howard but he is still soft and doesnt not solve our problems at the 4 spot anyways(defense and rebounding). Have we learned nothing form signing Mo to a big contract. Soft PFs should not be making a ton of money.

Vladimir's natural position is SF not PF. He isn't a good defender but he is a good shooter.
He would be an upgrade from Nachbar and could help out JJ who is aging.

I would consider Vlad a SF. Vladimir has said before that he does not like to play the PF position. He's more in the mold of Peja and Hedo. He's a pretty tall SF though. The Rockets can make do with Juwan Howard at the PF position. Nene if he is traded for JJ can play both the C and PF position.

I think we need to spend any money we have on upgrading at PF or at PG. JJ at small forward is fine for another year. I like Vlad but i just think it would be a mistake to pay him alot of money when we need more help at other positions.

Thanks for shedding some light on this. Maybe this is why this deal is being delayed. Hmmm very interesting though.

What do you think NIKEstrad - would make the deal if it was on the table?

JJ at SF is at best going to be a stopgap measure next year. JJ's game is slowing down dramatically. I'd deal him to Denver for Nene if I had the chance.

Vladimir Radmanovic will still be a restricted free agent. I don't know if any team will have the cap room or the desire to sign him to a big contract except the Rockets because the Rockets are trying to run a half-court offense that needs shooters. The most 90% of the teams can throw at Vlad is the full MLE offer.

I think the "after the first of the year" talk came from one of the rumors that have come out recently. Doc never said anything about his info, only that he had info and was going to relay it to Clutch.

Miami is looking to trade Eddie Jones for a shooting guard/sf...
Toronto wants to move Rose for help inside...
    Denver needs a shooter...

    JJ to Miami for Jones...
    MoTaylor to Toronto for Rose...
Boki and Padgett to Denver for Nene...

    Sura/Ward/AB
    Jones/Rose
    TMac/Rose
    Nene/Howard
    Yao/Deke

A bit old in the tooth... but no older than we are now. Gives up two proven scorers in Rose and Jones and a banging, high energy powerfoward in Nene.

This would never happen... but I am on crack right now and seeing pretty colors and trades that won't happen.

    1) JJ for Eddie Jones doesn't workout.
    2) I don't want anything to do with Jalen Rose. We're already the Houston Knicks. We don't need to turn into the Houston Knicks/Michigan Scumbag "Fab Five" jokes of the conference.
    3) Boki and Padgett for Nene? Now we're talking!:)

Thats an all time low for tade proposals. If they said no to Vince Carter why would they take JJ. Boki and SP for Nene thats just silly. Mo for Rose is the only one that makes sense but you have to throw in another contract for the rockets.

You ain't seen nothing yet. If the Rockets keep losing, the GARM might just collapse on itself becoming a blackhole of bandwagon crapola.
