You got a better chance of resurrecting Red Auerbach and convincing him to become our coach than you do of Nelson coming here anytime soon. Chris Mullin will not let that man go anywhere, anytime soon. I say we go NFL on that ass and we get Adelman as our offensive coordinator and keep JVG for our defensive coordinator, and to quote the great Dave Chappelle in Half Baked, that would be the "shiznito bam, snap, snap, snap!".

I agree, Alderman's offense is the best fit for McGrady and Yao, he would definitely maximize their strengths much better than Van Grundle.

JVG definitely did not utilize his 2 stars effectively.

McGrady definitely needs more help, it's been shown that he cannot carry this team on his broken back himself. With less pressure on himself he can undoubteldy contribute more. JVG over-reliance on T-Mac to go one on one and just dominate the other team over-burdened T-Mac, making him proclaim it's "all on me!", ultimately leading to a mouth full of adidas sneakers.

Yao is basically Ewing 2, thanks to JVG. See how other finesse shooting big men, like Vlade Divac, Chris Webber, Brad Miller, etc. flourished under Alderman, his offensive schemes played them to their strengths! JVG/Ewing have so brainwashed Yao that he's forgotten how to use his full repetoire of moves....now he's only back-down-bump-bump-turnaround shoot...disgusting and predictable and all that fighting for position tires him out.

And the last point is that Alderman really utilizes his bench, he played a deep rotation if I recall, and he would not let V-Span and Novak rot on the bench.

And who knows, if Alderman comes, maybe Bonzi will stay for his 2nd year! Since he did quite well at the Kings under Alderman. And then we'll got our 3rd scorer back, which is what we need to take some of the attention off Mac and Yao, a 3rd scorer. And that's what Bonzi was supposed to be, our 3rd scorer, that's what we were missing, that's what could've put us into the 2nd round, and that's the opportunity JVG blew his nose at.

    Bye bye Jeff,
    Hello Rick.

I think Mario Elie would be the perfect head coach for the Rockets so long as they had a very experienced Xs & Os assistant coach (like Rudy T) and another assistant coach like Hakeem. This coaching team not only would bring excitement but would be able to instill the mindset needed to get back to championship level. Mario would have an awesome mentor that all players would respect in Rudy and Rudy would be able to get back to his passion without as much of the stress. Hakeem would bring the intensity and fire to this franchise and punish Yao during practice. This would be the ideal trio to get this franchise to the next level.

Jeeeezz... If it is true, JVG deserves so much better than this. To be outed by Vescey?

JVG is the guy who took a $100k fine for the Rockets without complaining. I don't care about any criticisms that could be directed at him right now. He is an excellent coach, and a loyal Rocket. Vescey is still a MORON.

We really don't have the personnel to run that kind of offense. Our players have verrrrry limited skills.

Mario Elie is the logical choice to me. We need a coach who can kick players in the arse when necessary.

I disagree, the rockets players are very skilled offensively... In different areas ofcourse but they all have a decent offensive game...

You just need a coach that will run an offense suited to their strengths.

Rick Adelman was a Rocket also. Not to mention experience...

The last thing I heard on Adelman is that he wants a front office job in Portland where he lives.

I think we need to realize that the comment comes from Vescey so there is a decent chance it just isn't true.

If it is true I might be sorry to see him go. I liked him as our coach. But I am extremely upset with him right now.

When we were down by 16 JVG made a smart move of bringing in the smaller line up. But once we caught back up to within 4 he goes back to putting Yao Ming in and the Jazz go back up.

I'm not blaming Yao Ming, because Boozer is a mismatch for Yao, and that isn't his fault. You don't ask Jordan go guard Hakeem in a post up situation, and you don't ask Deke to guard Iverson out on the perimeter.

Anyway we should have stuck with what brought us back.

But even more importantly than that was that we should have gotten a damn rebound near the end of the game. That is all it would have taken. But the Jazz kept getting those offensive rebounds. It was torture to see that happen.

    ???????????

Were you watching the 2006-2007 Rockets? I don't think JVG deserves all the blame for this team's offensive woes. The Rockets have no offensive balance at all. Every single player on this team is a stand-around spot up shooter except for Kirk Snyder and too bad he got no playing time. Our Rockets are very 1-dimensional and were badly exposed in the playoffs for this. I don't think too many people will associate the Rockets and "very skilled offensively" in the same breath.

It's official, he's RETIRING. It's 10:50AM on Bloody Sunday. ESPN just stated that Van Gundy's retiring. Bring on Adelman.

    JVG needs to go

But you are all fools pulling for Adelman (IMO)

(Not that I haven't been called a fool before)

If this is true, JVG is a quitter and deserves to go. He quit on the Knicks too.

Our players laid it out there for him and believed in his system. I'll be glad to see a change - Rox ball the past few years at times has been unbearable to watch.
