If I were Les, I would call up Rudy to see if wants to return to coaching. Van Gundy must go.

Ivanyy, they had the perverbial deer in the headlamps look out there. They were absolutely stunned when Utah tightened the screws and roared back on them in final minutes. They simply could not take the pressure and their offense sputtered, wheezed and died. And I'm sure he told them to foul (as if that was necessary). They simply didn't do it. It happens all the time. People freeze in critical situations. It is simply misleading to lay all the blame for this at JVG's feet when these guys knew what had to be done.

On this we can agree. Actually, they failed in games 3 & 4. All they had to do was get a split in Utah and the series was theirs for the taking. When they came back tied 2-2, you knew this series was going to go the distance.

The strategy was to trap and get a steal and then foul if that fails (as it always in that situation for the rockets), the players did a horrible job of executing and knowing how much time was on the clock.

thanks to a ALL TIME great in dream not necessarily b/c of rudy's great coaching. Hell CD had to hold his hand when it came to x's and 0's

and the rockets were an "entertaining" other than watching a truly great player in dream carry a team.

    Hold his hand?

Rudy won the last Gold Medal for the USA in Olympic basketball, Larry Brown said that Rudy was one of the best basketball minds he had ever met.

You sir......are out of order !

I don't like the idea of getting Rudy back, it would be great going for Adelman and then look for Bibby, I think we would cover many issues by hiring those two guys....

Fact is, after three years with JVG, a change is needed..

yes it means nothing unless the great coach has a ring and the coach he's talking about also has a ring

Uh...no. Rudy was the coach for both championships.

I think JVG is incredibly smart and a great basketball mind.

I think he is a demotivating nitpicker as a coach.

    Big difference...

i wouldn't go so far as to call them entertaining. Hakeem was the only "entertaining" piece of that those Rockets championship. the Rockets/Knicks finals had one of the worst ratings for a reason.
