Personally, if JVG's not back, I want a Rocket to coach the Rockets. MARIO ELIE!

    What about Kenny Smith?

    But, I would rather have in order;

    Rudy T
    Adleman
    Del Harris
    PJ Carlisimo

I would think this is true. I just hope that JVG makes his announcement sooner rather than later so the Rox can have a new head coach on board before the draft.

And please no Larry Brown, I don't care if he is Les's neighbor in the Hamptons. LB literally had a blank check to build a team in NY and he still only wound up with 23 wins. I really don't want to see his act in Houston, he'll never stay around long enough to finish the job.

I am really down for Carlisle.

I wasn't a huge fan of Rudy's, so lets not go through all that again. If you talk about boring offenses, let's look at Rudy's continuous mobley/francis ISO plays that nearly single-handedly caused the league to allow zone defenses. Elie could be OK, but he has no experience either.

You people that want Carlisle should realize his offense is even more deliberate and controlled than JVG's. Is this what you really want? Most of the complaints about JVG will also be true about Carlisle.

Paul Silas? Forget it, for a lot of reasons. The guy should never coach in the NBA again. Did you know he is the reason Boozer wanted to leave the Cavs? He told Boozer to his face he would never be anything more than a bit player in the NBA. What an astute judge of talent.

Want ellie and assistant coach at GS for about 3 years?. that might be enough expirence. After reading A_3PO comments about silas, i tend to agree with you know.Another couple candidates PJ carlisemo and dell harris. PJ has been a head coach before and has played an insturmental part in the spurs coaching heirachy. harris also has coached and played a vital role in the mavs heirachy. dell has also coached yao before i think.

Actually, it's a good time for the Rockets to hire a coach because there are good coaches available. So, I hope Peter gets this right at least for this time. For christ sake.

Is JVG the weakist link? He wants to coach and always cite cant take the stress of the sideline. WTF?

If Vescey wrote '1+1=2' I'd still have doubts.

Oh, and btw Del Harris took the Rockets to the NBA Finals.

Just thought I'd mention that to the ppl on the board who look to GS and want a coaching revival. Harris is a big part of Rockets history.

Id say Adelman should come in, because he will unleash the hidden offensive talent JVG has shunned from the players all these years.

The knowledge the players took from JVG is a good foundation, but It would be so fun if we were to really see the offensive talent, this team really has under new coaching.

That's the ONLY coach I am willing to go with at this point, unless Nelson is available that is.

I want more offensive creativity, and I am sick and tired of guys like JVG and Fratello who basically preach a similar type of offense. We need more motion, more ball movement and more cuts/picks for McGrady who at this point is depended on FAAAAR too much to do everything on offense for this team whereas it's pretty easy for opponents to know whom to focus on. Basically, shut down McGrady and you beat the Rockets. It's that simple.

    That has to change, immediately...

I don't know who our next coach should be, but surely JVG should retire and explore his true talent which is stand up comedy ....He could make a duo with Barkley too....
