Thank goodness. We definetely need a more uptempo style, but it needs to be balanced with defense also. The Suns have so much talent, it is ridiculous, however they have been amazing for 3 yrs, but have never made it to the NBA finals. I still think Iavaroni or D'antoni's brother would be a good choice. It would just take a while to get the talent level good enough to play like that, as long as we can retain SOME of the defensive mentality that JVG instilled into the team.

On Phoenix the ball is in the PG (Nash) hands all the time, they don't have a wing player like t-mac that handles the ball like that. If we got a PG to initainte the offense like Nash or Baron does, how would tmac's role change??

This might be the one good thing that the Rockets' lost leads to.

DD keeps mentioning about how V-Span would have helped in the playoffs had he had playing time to develop during the season - THERE WERE NO ROOKIES this year that contributed if at all in the playoffs. Thabo for a little bit but that is all.

And DD is right. Vspan isn't a regular rookie. He's a seasoned euro player. Calling him a rookie is like calling anthony parker or garbajosa rookies.

    JVG not playing rookie?

how about starting Hayes over J.Ho?
how about seriously thinking about starting S.Novak as our starting PF?

It's not JVG's fault that Tmac and Yao got injured and everygame became so critical.
With margin of error so small, there's no room for rookie mistake.

I know what you said is a joke, but everyone forgets that this is the best season of all to look for a new coach. The team is a promising one, there are a lot of candidates for the job, all in all, this could be a blessing. Remember the bulls before Jackson took over? That had a similarly disappointing season, and then took over the entire league. Next year will be an interesting one.

There is one thing I am almost sure:
you can not find one better coach in the league for the current Rockets, even Larry Brown or Phil Jackson.

And JVG is the coach who leads this team to 3 playoffs in 4 years, even though we missed 5 straight playoffs. What's more, the teams ranks #5 in winning ratio in the league this season. Give me a clue on how this guy takes all the fault please.

Perhaps Avery Johnson should retire before JVG does?

    and ask yourself....
After Yao got hurt, would you rather JVG develop the rookies and we end of in the lottery?

or play as hard as you can, try to win everygame and hopefully we can make the playoff and Tmac and Yao will be healthy and make a playoff run??
I thought the answer was pretty obvious....

See Phil Jackson with the Lakers in this season and the last one? I don't think anyone will ever take such a moron and pay him 10 million every year!

Carlisle was once good, the best one in the east. Before Artest was banned for the fight in Detroit, he owned Larry Brown. But how about now? Yes, he is still good, but good coaches may stink sometimes.

The same for Larry Brown, who had a terrible season in New York, while Flip Saunders, the loser of playoffs picks up Pistons and act as if he was the best coach.

Again, now for Miami, the defending champion, out after the first round, swept by the young Bulls, their coach is the legendary Pat Riley. So someone should blame Pat Riley?

Les will have his pick of the best to coach this team.

    Look for Adelman,Jackson,or Brown.

    Paul Silas sux
Phil Jackson is currently worse than JVG. See his playoffs?
Someone mentioned Larry Brown? His work in New York should have scared Leslie Alexandar off.

Hasn't gotten a lot of play here on the BBS, but I think Mario Elie is a real candidate. We know what a leader he was on the Rockets and Spurs, and I think the players would really relate to him. The only question is the Xs and Os.
